Scratch filler wanted.

Postby sufferrar » October 2nd, 2007, 7:44 am

Ok. I don't know is there is such a ting.
My wife has a brand new tiida (less than 5 months old) and it seems someone/student took a ruler and a compass and drew neat lines on the car door. The deepest one went close to the primer and the rest is less deep. Very thin and hardly visible from 3 feet back.
My last option is to repaint the door, i remember seeing somewhere that there is a scratch filler that can seal/fill the scratch and make it like new again. The filler has to be chosen to be the same colour of the car. Just need something to cover the area that the primer is visible. Any body knows what can be done.
Thanks in advance.

Well , i already have check a painter man to handle this for me for $400. so i think this may be my best bet because i can vaguely remember the scratch filler is about $250 or more.
Just remember reading about a new paint that nissan vehicles are coming with- a self repair paint. If you pick up scratches like me them the paint will automatically heal itself in about a week time. Suppose to be coming in 2009 nissan vehicles.
But it only last about 5 years.

Would someone esle other than Neal and Massey's body shop doing the work void the warranty??? Just make sure your painter matches the paint correctly.

Well we have the code from the fire wall so it should be a perfect match. It may just void the 10 year rust warranty that suppose to come with the car. But engine wise the warranty is good as well as suspension and ting.

turtle wax has a scratch remover that comes with a small coloured bar to fill in the scrapes and a bottle of wax. Sells for about $75 it wont hurt to try it out.

I paint over on Fiday and it like perfect. I think the turtle wax is much more for swirl marks.

Anyone knows someone in St. Augustine to do minor repairs..got 3 deep scratches down to the sheet metal about 6" long....don't wanna do the whole car....and how long would this take...used the turtle wax and that's a waste of money...

Sent my car there to do a body job and they messed it up... had to remove the car while it was still in a stripped-down state as the owner refused to work on it and also demanded full payment for the job...
