EOI d15b 4th gear going in to soon

Good day.. I have a ek3 with a d15b non vtec
automatic transmission.. the 4th gear comes in too soon at abt 45-50km and causes the car to buck. Need a solution!

Wouldn't have that issue with a gearbox...

What tells the transmission to change gear ?
