2nd service is about $1500..oil&oil filter, balance&rotate&align, top up fluids, check/change air filter & check/change brake pads.
add cost of pads/air filter.

cost of parts:
front disc brakes $706.35 discounted to $600.40 after I ask for a %15 discount.
air filter about $294.23 .......discounted to $235.38
Coolant $217 per gallon...... Discounted to $194.97
oil $54.31 per quart... u need 4 so is $271.55
oil nut washer $4
oil filter $83
rear brake shoes expensive and they selling individually, not a set of 4 like you need.

Ofcourse add your 12.5% vat.

Thanks for that info, I have been asking the sales girl at Honda for this info and she claims that she has to get it from the Service Manager, but I feel she just doesn't want to give to me me, cuz something not adding up, or Honda City should be renamed Honda Chity

She told me service is every 10,000km, if you need to factor a brake pad change in the second service, which is 20,000km, then its either the parts are crap, or the dealership changing good parts just to make money on the parts

brake pads in my Mitsu's usually last 40,000km + and even longer on OEM pads

I'm slowly loosing interest in this vehicle as the sales ppl just providing relevant and pertinent info

Quickly depleted brake pads could be due to my driving style. Other city owners haven't changed pads up to 30k kms.

ok, but pads not lasting min 40,000km is kinda disappointing, even for spirited driving

friend of mine told me she was advised to change her CNG filter during a standard service,

none of my conversations with the sales person this came up.

any one done this?

Ok just came of the phone with BRENT the CNG tech at Massey automotive omera road, and he indicated the filter can be effective for years before it needs changing! Also , it costs around $350-$400.

we have a new Fit. not a City CNG but i hope it might be clse enough.

car is approaching 40000 km.

never had a pad change done yet on the car based on what I seen on the service receipt. all changed so far would be oil/filter, intkae filter and aircon filter. they also left old filters for me to see....but ti doesn't necesairly mean that those filters came off my car tho.

also, if you take the in-one package and finance through ansa, you pay some extra up front, but the have no service cost for three years I think.

the figures I got from the sales agent, who got them from the service manager as follows:

10k km - $800-1200
20k km - $1000-1500
30k km - $1000-1700
40k km - $1400-3000

that free service is just the labour, you still have to pay for the parts and fluids

Bumping this thread for info. Considering one as a new ride for the wife but not sold on it. I really prefer to buy a nice local used 2008 to 2012 civic but thinking if the city cng is a good buy. Info is appreciated

Hyundai Ioniq for the win... $170k and 58mpg. Not only bigger than the City, but much better looking in my opinion :-)

So I am a owner of a city cng. I live south work Barataria so I full every day.. And my reasons for buying is pretty simple

1. The ioniq can only travel at 50km/hr with batrery...well so the salesman said...over 50km gas kick in.. I run 160km/hr with cng no issues. Yes the car stays on the the road too.

2. With cng being on the market many years now I'm pretty sure there are many technican available for repairs even if the warranty period is over. Can't say much about the hybrid. Anyone?

3. My other half works for a insurance company if you lose a nose cut in an accident with a hybrid automatic write off due to the cost to repair the damages being too much. The company write of two already

4. Resale value.....is Honda. Then there is Carmax to trade as well.

5. Based on my distance traveling I would usually save $1300 - $1400.00 a month...vs my previous car 1.5 toyota axio with eco mode. Putting it another way from $50.00 super a day to $7.00 & $8.00 cng per day..... A full tank of petrol will stay the entire month or more unless you deside to use it and trust me a full tank could rally you a week of North south driving.

No regrets here.

^^^ nice info. How is the ride quality and space? Not trunk space as I know that is limited. Back seats, legroom etc. also how has your service experience been thus far?

The ride qualtity is good....on highway I would usually take off the traction which makes the suspension softer... really really nice ride. The legroom in the back is pretty good. I'm 6ft. and there's plenty leg for me.the quality of the seats are like toyota hard but comfortable. My first service is this week I'll update you then.

It will depend on the distance you run..... i living south past the mosquito creek and working Barataria....I would full my 8 dollars every morning on the way to work by mon repos gas station... less than 2 minutes to full and you out.

HONDA CITY CNG

Postby Tekland » May 31st, 2017, 3:06 pm

Looking at this thread i dont think i will consider honda citi cng anymore as i have a kia rio basic 2014 model and i service every 7500 kmh however to this day i havent change breaks pads front or back an nothing else other than oil and oil filter and air filter and ac filter and im on 45000 mileage, the next change other than the regular service is spark plugs and thats at 60000 kmh and and transmission is at 75000 and belt is at 80000 - 100000, this car is no cng but very durable smooth and suspension is great with no noise so until i meet a vehicle that stands up like that I'll take offers like that......thanks for the info was really looking at the honda citi

For me I like the accord hybrid. Bringing for self is about 130000 while lowest priced dealer is 138000. You get 1200 kms on one tank. 0 to 60 in 6.9 secs . Car tells you.when to change oil which a reviewer had to change 2 times in 64000km

I have one just about a year and 4 months now. We drive a lot dragon boat ...live arima and hit chaguramas and salybia to train a lot. Have done 40000km going for service in the morning and at the last service everything was good and still had 4mm of brakes still which is alot.... and I just changed tyres last month ... so that should tell you how much I driving as well as distance covered already in a year. On the 10000 we get full and free servicing.. well with the all 1 plan we took was a Lil more like 10g more but free service as well as free insurance on a brand new show room vehicle is expensive 20% start and then depreciate I'm saving app in 5 years (we got it in the last time that 5 year plan was offering) more than 50grand .... the original tyres as thin ... still pretry good a's I put down some kinda of drives ... see what vehicle I have as my picture.... put on same 15 just the wider 1s now and it's great... accelerating is a breeze.. on gas an cng.... an we only ride in ac. Maracas full car of 6 persons lol... was no problem ... on cng... Lil slow sometimes but was a test I did. I full up usually every 2 to 3 days on cng but would get about 150-160km with ac on a cng $13 if pump compressed good can get 14 more distance. Gas now is like 120 empty to full and that would give you about 500 to 600km so close to the 800km. Yeah the doors open kinda hard like it cease up but that's normal and minimal trunk space is only slight problem but it does bother me I have 2 beach chairs dragon boat paddles and gym and running gear always in my trunk an still fit bags so yeah anything else Holla I'll answer...... if you see me I'm the blue honda city cng with the dragon boat bumper stickers on the back
