Changing of vtec filter in K20A engine

Postby prutoonkman » April 30th, 2015, 9:29 am

Had to do this myself yesterday in order to stop an oil leak. Easy to do from under the car once the oil filter is removed (about 45 mins). There are three bolts holding it and this is all you have to take off, the shield comes out with the solenoid (vtec) valve as well. One of the things that struck me most is the price of the filter at these crazy people in El Socorro as they want TT$390 for it. From what you can see in Amazon, the price is US$3.75 plus US$3.25 shipping which is way less than TT$390. See the corresponding link http://www.amazon.com/Honda-15815-RAA-A ... 15-raa-a02
Of course I bought it from Amazon!

Federal also has it for $130. You don't have to do it from under the car, it's easy to get it out from the engine bay area.

If you have a mirror then this can be easily done from above but you can easily see the bolts from the bottom.
