help: ek3 jerking when changing gears

Postby scoobert_doo » August 12th, 2014, 6:48 pm

hi, im having a problem with an ek3 civic.....recently went to a mechanic to change the engine and he said i had to change my tranny as well because water went into it for the time it was parked down so the tranny was changed as well, now when i drive the car and its changing gears i get a very rough jerk and sometimes the tach goes very high almost to 6 before it changes gear and also the rough shift......its an automatic transmission, non turbo engine d15b.....any information will be greatly appreciated!

check tps voltage (0.5 to 4.7)
check oil level
check solenoids (resistance and activation strength)
if all fails, could be a bad tranny.
