FD1 CIVIC HEAD UNIT

Vehicle: 2007 RORO FD CIVIC

The vehicle has the stock head unit with NAV/TV/DVD etc

Most of the stuff are in Japanese.

I do not want to replace it with an aftermarket unit.

Can this be somehow configured to English? Also, it cannot pick up Local Radio stations and does not have an AUX port. Who can successfully configure it to play local stations without disabling any other features.

What about the head unit in the local FA1 Civics? Can it be replaced and is there a din conversion sold to put an aftermarket double din head unit?

yes, you have to buy a dash kit. It's hard to get on for a RHD car. In the USA, the ones for LHD cars sell for about US$30.00

I doubt converting your existing HU menus to english is possible. You'll most likely have to source and OEM unit from an english speaking territory. Australia, and the Acura CSX in Canada, not sure about the UK.

Either way, the cost would be ridiculous when compared to installing an after market unit. If you really wanna keep the unit, your only real option is a band expander i think.

There is no firmware in english for those units. Their English counterparts also have antitheft stuff on them and maybe you don't want that fight. Go get a decent Pioneer unit and a pocket from Toys in Debe. OR just get a double din unit that fits right in. I spent over a year on that journey you started. Even the hard drive in that unit is old school parallel ATA for laptops and the filesystem is unknown to Debian, Kali Linux and Slackware. So you can't even slave the drive and throw on some tunes. I was either assaulted by J pop from the previous owner, had cd's skipping or crappy radio reception. Seriously, forget that radio.

bought a dash kit (for another vehicle) at Triple R. Good fit. They also would have the plug n play harnesses including the steering wheel controls.
