Central Locking

Hi there tuners.Have a 96 ek hatch.The central locking stopped working.Over the yrs when it happend i would take off the passsenger door handle and spray inside and it would start to work.However this time doing that doesnt work anymore.The central locking works on unlocking the door but it doesnt lock the door.I'm not hearing any clicks coming from the passenger door when i lock my driver door but i do hear it when i unlock the driver door.So my question is what wud cause the central locking to work this way ,is there a relay thats gone in the passenger door or has something else stopped working inside there.Wanted to find out from anyone here if they had this problem and how was it solved before i pull down the door panel.Thanks in advance.
