Is it hard to source parts/ maintain for these older models: Eg8,9, etc. Say between 95-2000 model?
I'm thinking of getting one for a daily, any info greatly appreciated.

It has parts, just might have to spend some money for it. OEM is always best.

Hmm, define "little expensive". I wanted a civic as my first car, got my bro 323f sport at no cost instead, drop in a auto tranny v6. loved it but parts availability was my concern. still vex i sell it but you fellas does make it look easy to maintain a civic. i want to see if i could get one that i could add my personality to without ricing it too much.

well by expensive i mean, compare to some other brands like for eg. Nissan
the price for certain Honda parts may be twice the amount what you would pay for a Nissan part
Honda and Toyota parts are a bit pricy on the whole but, the quality of parts you'll be getting is where it becomes worth the price, once you change a part "with OEM parts that is" you wont have to worry bout it for a long while.
If your looking for a Civic to buy i would recommend getting one that is almost pure stock or one that the previous owner didn't over do ( RICE OUT ), or abuse it. cause to restore a Honda an't cheap.
Get one with a good body, suspension and engine and from there do your magic

My cvt giving ah lil trouble every now and then.I changed the oil and filter twice last year and it looks like it needs changing again(colour starting to turn dark).I was advised to go gearbox because a foreign used cvt might be of the same condition or worse due to mileage and that they tend to give trouble. My question is are there anybody who rebuilds cvt transmission properly with original parts? Before people say that it can't be done,if you search the classifieds right here, you would see a powerseller selling original toyota cvt rebuild kits for the new fielder and axio.
