d16Y7 auto tranny slipping?

Postby weapon-X » June 20th, 2012, 11:02 am

So... I haven't been here for a while... but I thought I might get some advice.

The issues.

1. I accelerated from a traffic light, was behind one car. I pressed the ex so that the car down-shifted like normel, from 2nd to 1st to overtake the car in font of me.
Now. Here's the problem, after reving up to about 4500rpm, when I expected the gear to shift back up to 2nd, the rpm kept climbing (with a loss in torque) all the way to 7000rpm (Like it forgot it was supposed to up-shift.) So I came off the gas to let it catch itself. I haven't tried to replicate the situation again.
Tranny fluid is smooth, and does not smell burnt.

2. When at a standstill, the transmission is taking like 2 seconds to shift from reverse to neutral to drive etc.

What is your opinion on the tranny's condition?

When last did you change the transmission oil? What transmission oil r u using? When changing trans oil did you drain it or went by someone who used a pump to suck up the fluid?

I am asking these questions since I had to replace my transmission recently due to a similar problem.
