D15B Idle problem...(problem solved pls delete).

Postby playerskrew » February 5th, 2012, 6:11 pm

Ok fellas ah need a lil advise here, it's a EG8 Civic with a D15B SOHC Vtec, When i start in the morning the car idle at 1500-2000 rpm when the engine heats up it drops to 1000 rpm an starts to fluctuate between 1000 and 2000 rpm, if i put on the AC or put it in drive the idle stabilize at 800-1000 rpm, when the car is driven and stopped if i put it in park SOMETIMES it idles good and SOMETIMES it fluctuates...........I’ve serviced the Idle Control Valve twice, far as my research goes it could be: TPS sensor, idle control valve (IACV), map sensor, fast idle valve (FITV), even the brain box.....before i go and spend excess $$$ any info will be appreciated....

Try doing a search on you tube and you will get ideas as to what it can be and how to fix it.

Did you adjust the fast idle control valve?
Also did you change coolant recently, cause air in the system can also cause the fluctuations etc.
