To all the Honda supporters at yesterday Drag and Wind event

To all of those who came out to support the Honda brand, X2 and I would like to say Thanks!
It was unfortunate that X2 did not make it into the shootout, but I hopefully made up for it taking down that 400hp Evo and Turbo Swift for the GT3 win
And "No", X2 did not have to "import a driver" LOL
Thanks again for the support, and we have better and bigger plans for the car in the near future.

Great driving by the ultimate underdog ! But importing a driver means I'd have to pay you... hard luck dey ! I'm just happy to see the car I built being driven well enough to show what it's all about !
BTW... the white evo wasn't the only beast to go down... I managed to beat the blue evo7 during qualifying... even though the line-man originally tried to match blue 400+hp beast against an STi

JDM_GUY... it's the driver AND the car eh... despite the sheer number of stock parts on the car, I have tailored parts selection carefully to ensure we are as competitive and as possible. We are beating higher classed cars despite the fact that I downgraded to OEM Honda springs and shocks, OEM camber, caster and toe limits, etc.... all to ensure we don't get a class bump ! Despite all that, the N/A Clone was placed into GT3 to fight amongst turbocharged 2wd and modified AWD cars like Evo's, STi's.
Fixables... let's hope they don't try to push us into GT4 next time... I don't think the talent is enough to push 160hp to a win there.... OR IS IT !?!?!

We may need to actually buy good tires next time, and not those Foreign Used Winter tires you put me to run with yesterday

JDM_GUY... that's a yes and no answer.
The snow tires are soft and wear quickly... they work fairly well for the drag type launch but otherwise were very greasy at the extreme end of the cornering in this course and the softer compound allows too much sidewall deflection under load. They were pretty much not a good tire for this event (and we knew this coming into the event). However they would probably be just fine for a slower, short course and they dig in very well when not too hot like slower dex courses. (You may have seen us 'prepping' the tire between runs).
On the upside tho... they seem to have gotten good grip in the muddy, gravelly sections and pretty good performance in the wet as I was able to show at the Tobago solodex.

keving MCc,
I my self was amazed I even stayed close to that thing.
When I found out I had to race against it I was like
Even got a bigger shock when he took me off the line and down the stretch by 4 cars, but I drove my race, and brought him in 1/2 car at a time and he eventually cracked at the end.
Thanks again for the support, and I hope to keep the Honda flag flying high for the rest of the events in 2011.

I really wanna enter the next event. Hoping and praying i can get my tires soon but any idea what class i would be in. I have a stock DC5R with SRI, nothing else.
Cyclops was telling me they bumped yall a class up because of the driver? lol Congrats to both of you again.

heard the sentiment.
but can a driver make a car to do something it is NOT mechanically capable of?
sometimes you have to accept that the car is capable of more, and needs to be pushed even harder more often.

When you say the cars on "stock springs" you mean type-r springs I'd wager? AFAIK that is the same as using aftermarket shock and springs since those are not stock on that car, OEM Honda they may be.
I don't agree with the rule personally, but those are the breaks... that's why Devi got penalty points since his car is not a swift sport but is on swift sport suspension.
For me I'm done limiting my car to fit into a class... I want my car to be the best street machine I can muster, so I'll just run in whatever class they put me.
I'm hoping my foot will be healed for the next event so I can further bolster the Honda camp showing...
Nice to hear the car is doing well, I better see if I can import a driver myself yes

Still not stock for that car so penalty points in your ass, the factory lsd you have on the car is not stock on that car either, nor is the rear sway bar... I smell class bump

I think that classing was based on times and not the hp numbers of the cars, so the racing should be competitive... I just let you know how the dex peeps move when it comes to points
I will be making times to class with you guys hopefully... last time it was me and Devi in the shootout and I literally destroyed my tires on that run... wire and stuff poking out of them... so he won (he woulda win anyway but doh tell him dat)

For the first event they did... last even I heard they grouped by times

ingalook... you sounding more like you does look too much. There's not really anything on the car that wouldn't come on an EG SiR or even an EX civic... short of the engine... and the Hp numbers are below the competition (in both dex and D&W). The car has been downgraded to meet the rules of dex and is still dominating in events that have much looser classifications. Sooo haters gunna hate... regardless, we managed to spit in the faces of the monsters of grip and horsepower.
ingalook wrote:I think that classing was based on times and not the hp numbers of the cars, so the racing should be competitive...
You'd think so, but you not making the rules. The reason you cannot classify on times.... how do you plan on classifying someone who enters with a car they have never driven in an event ? Some guy shows up in a stock WRX and drives like poo all day will get put into GT2 and then he drives slightly better in the competition and violates all the other GT2 competitors because when you put an average driver in an average awd car, thier times can be well above average. This time classification in a DRAG and wind event is a two edged sword.
ingalook wrote:I will be making times to class with you guys hopefully... last time it was me and Devi in the shootout and I literally destroyed my tires on that run... wire and stuff poking out of them... so he won (he woulda win anyway but doh tell him dat)
... you driving on tires without tread ? That doh pass tech in dex eh... lol
D&W is not dex... they are two completely different things. Before the end of the year... maybe I should bring something new to have them figure out how to classify.
