never heard of that.. if its releasing gas that's because you have a leak somewhere or the system is over pressure and some cars i think the ek comes wit a pressure realease valve close to the dryer
my advice pressure test the system with a dye and see what happens or do over the system which fairly easy.. idk if its a eg8 or ek3 you have but i had a eg9 and i changed the compressor expansion valve and dryer all to 134a flushed the system mounted it back up changing all the o-ring seals and it worked fine the difference from the r12 to 134a is very noticeable
all the parts mentioned above could be purchased from maraj airconditioning on aranguez road hope this helped

If the compressor release valve is letting out your gas it's most likely because your a/c system is suffering from a high pressure problem.

To rectify this the system needs to be serviced. Changing from r12 to r134a is always tricky & you need a professional workshop to handle this for you. A few parts needs to be changed entirely to accommodate the r134a. You just can't change drier & valve then charge r134a into a r12 designed system. Your compressor is not going to last too long.

You could always check us for professional advice & high quality parts at low prices.

You have to be careful with other company's that sell cheap low quality parts at comparable prices.

Thanks for all the advice guys....hopefully I'll get it fixed soon! The a/c guy said that the step-up needs to be activated first coz my step-up isnt working an its causing the compressor to over heat thats what he said..any ideas?
