The GSR is a better platform to start off with for the following reasons:

It has more tq from the start.

The block is almost the same as the B18C5. Only difference I know of is that the oil system's a bit different so you'll get problems stroking to 2.0. There might be others. But this means If you wanna build a crazy head, you have a good block to run with it.

The C1 combustion chambers are smaller than the B16A, meaning if you just swap in B16A pistons you get a good compression bump.

If you wanna boost, the gsr has the compression for it from the start.

There are many other reasons that I missed.

why most ppl love to run a mech... i consider myself and others lucky.. no suckeye ftw

but b18 gsr ftw... considering the drastic price difference for a type r... the difference can be spent on upgrades to get you on par or even better... but then again for what purpose to reach traffic lights quickly?
