WTK- local 2004 accord

Postby vybezlord1 » April 22nd, 2011, 9:08 pm

Hey tuners! Im a previous ES8 owner and I swear by the Honda brand! I'm giving some serious thought about buying a local 2004 accord. If there are any owners in the forum, can u give me any advice based on your experience with the car?? Any major problems u had, availability of parts, if it's fuel efficient etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I believe this car has a 2.0 L K20 iVTEC engine in it which is the same one in my 2004 Stream (I hope it is not a 2.4 L engine). If so then it is very economical depending on how you drive it. It is designed to run on Super gas so you don't have to burn a hole in your pocket. The only thing that might possibly need changing is the front cradle bushings. Parts are available on-line if you know the part number you are looking for otherwise you can get it in places like Autonation. My personal view is that it is a darn good car.

I drive one, it is my first car, my pop's old car. It has 125,000KM on the odometer and runs like brand new. The transmission is the most rock solid i have come across, shifts super smooth and adapts to how you drive. If It senses you are driving fast or spirited it will hold the gears.

It probably handles best of the Japanese mid size sedans from its era. AND IT IS DECENT FAST, WAY FASTER THAN AN ES8. Right now i am getting horrible gas mileage from it (250-300km PER TANK), but this is due to the fact that i am running NP oil in the engine, and the injectors need to be serviced. Car's top speed is about 215-220 kph, not bad if you ask me. It does this from the beathom lights by bhagwansingh's to about a little after maritime plaza.

If you have any more questions shoot me a PM i am willing to answer em!

carfreak1024, on a decent mix of regular to spirited driving you should get 450-500km to a $210 tank of premium and the top speed is closer to 235......... yours need to tune up
