No, OBD2a
And I don't think there's much of a difference between the manual and auto with that engine. I was told the ecu's have different redlines and that's it. I'm using the ecu that came with the cvt with my gearbox and I have no probs. Redlines at 7400 and like it don't have a speed cut. If you have an auto/cvt ecu then you can use it.

ohhh ok i read that too as well...i have an extra ecu if anyone interested as well...

i have a question i put a vtec 3 stage in a obd 1 ek3 but no vtec the car is laaazzy. Do you guys know someone who can check my wiring i think the mechanic did shite pm or 684-3794

The fuel and ignition maps are way different.

have you personally seen the difference or dyno tested it ?
