honda ek3 camber problem

Postby frosty69 » December 22nd, 2008, 11:38 am

i have a local honda ek3 (the 1 with the big lights ) i changed tyres and the ppl told me that the car needs cambering and that i need to buy a camber kit (for like $3k) .so i checked around and was told that these cars dont need cambering thats why there's no adjustment on it to camber it . so this lead me to believe that maybe there is a worn part some where , the both front tyres are cutting on the insides . Can anyone help me out here in finding out weather its a worn part throwing off the camber of the car ?i asked a lot of allignment places and they keep telling me i have to get the kit .i really finding it hard to spend $3k + installation for such a small thing

front kits are bout $1500
rear bout 1200
do u have lowering springs ? if yes then u need a camber kit

bad bushings ,upper ball joint could cause your camber problem

and yes there is NO WAY TO ADJUST CAMBER WITH OEM PARTS

is that SPC camber kit the best? my car totally stock but i thinkin about upgrading eventually to coilovers etc. and you gettin the bushings for them o when that go you have to buy back a whole kit? that is the only reason why i skeptical about buyin it.

my spc camber kit has been on my hatch for about 4 years,it comprised of a heavy steel front upper a-arm(sliding ball joint/4 bolts to secore & 1 bolt for adj), the rear is a forged steel adj shaft, i also purchased their aluminum rear lower control arm. this is an excellent kit(my present kuhmo,s ecsta supra tyre,s,have lasted over 2 year,s. this kit cost,s over $500us plus shipping & handling, but it,s way superior to the skunk2, was purchased over the internet, SPCsuspension.com. 8-)

ok, well i installed the camber kit ,the brand was i think "OMNI" its the one with the 4 allan key bolts to tighten the placement of the ball joint when cambering. well any way , i noticed the rubber on the ball joint of the cambar kit is broken, how do i change the ball joints?is it the same ball joint for the stock control arm i have to get and have pressed in?or do i have to get the whole set up with the plate for the for the 4 allan key screws to go into ?

Tuner imports sells the replacement balljoints. And dude stop asking all those questions and use google to answer some. There are tons of info on the internet, just do a search. Thats how we learn.

if you not your lowered lower than 2.5'' buying a camber kit is a waste of money, the toe is what is most important, and a little negative camber is good.
just properly rotate tires, i have tires over a year now and no sign of camber wear as yet. car is driven mon-fri . east t0 uwi

I took out my front and rear camber kits with the car still on drop-low springs, tires cutting like madness.
gonna put them back on soon as I get time to get the energy bushing kit to replace the worn bushings on the camber kit.

Brand is Skunk2, can I get the ball joint for it also by Tuner Imports?
