hey guys i have an H22A engine in my prelude and i saw the engine check light came on so rather than doin my usual and goin to d shop to get it checked on d computer... i decided to check it myself and i am getting seven short blinks on the check light so i guessin that's ERROR code 7.
anyone knows what this error means? i saw on some honda forum that error code 7 is a TPS problem but i didn't actually see it written as:
Error 7 = TPS problems for the 1996 prelude so i am wonderin if the codes varies for different hondas and if so if anyone can assist me with this error and locating the possible part which is givin trouble

Error 7 is a throttle postion sensor problem, check the jacks first into the sensor, then check the voltage to the sensor and signal from the sensor ( usually 0-5 v), you can check this with the ignition on but the vehicle not started, and depressing the accelerator pedal.

Most if not all honda TPS sensors are the same so just ask for a TPS for a honda and walk with the old one to compare.

Hope that helps.

thanks alot... lastnight i decided to check the jack... i didn't actually use my fluke to measure any voltage comin to/from the sensor. i jus simply cleaned out d terminals and pluged it in. cleared all the errors on the car... drove it today a bit and no check light came on so i guessin it was jus the jack was slack :D
