I think I need to do a rebuild on the engine. Looking into some new pistons and rings. What you suggest for brand and compression/bore?

hmn ...what signs aare you getting that a rebuild is needed?

personally used and had a couple friends the bought the rebuild kit from fj distributors .. 81.25 or 81.5 mm pistons.

kit comes with ,acl bearings, engine gasket kit,ycp coated pistons, npr or hastings rings, new water pump ..timing belt and tensioner. cost about $3400..

i'll tell you to build as ls or sell the current swap and buy a type r swap

The type R swap might be the better beat.

Like what you did to the B16A JD, but I am running totally stock because my car was automatic and when I dynoed I got 134hp with an automatic comp.. I have 2.5 inch exhaust running from front to back, stock exhaust manifold. Now thinking about doing some serious head work... I am looking to see if I can get 150hp..

PAZ.. after 4000KM running 10W30 Mobil 1 engine oil my car only took 200ml to reach the full mark, so i guess my engine still is very good. I wouldn't be rebuilding it nor changing it any time soon.

What other project man? I didn't get the ITR valve train so I am just sticking with what I have now and will get it tuned. Maybe next year I will get the ITR DC2 engine but for now my engine seems to be very healthy, so it makes no sense changing it.
Going with a hondata S100 chip to tune it, will post the figures.

JDM_GUY wrote:Compression 180,180,180,180

it is tru your engine not burning oil

but your compression kinda low .. hence another reason you not making power with the ITR cams

Also
with the ITR cams you needed to switch your Vtec from 54 to 58 ( same as ITR and increase you limit to 86 i.e. once you making power there

Since you do not have Dual springs .. drop in a set of Supertech springs good for 9k and 13mm lift cams

have funn
9k and counting

has your red line changed or the ecu is restricting it... a tuned ecu could get up more also...

I did some research and found that I do have the first model b16a engine, which has a Compression: 10.2:1 that could be why my PSI output was so low. But I will hang on to the b16a until it dies then look to switch to the b18cR.
I will be tuning the engine next week but I dont think I will have time to install the springs so I will keep the stock rev limit of 8200RPM

^ how did your car end up with that first model was OBD0 from a CRX ?

what you gonna use to Tune ?

other than that Please remember Those cams came from a valve train with Dual springs.
you can risk valve float and springs bind ....

My block has the oil cooler on the oil filter, I read that it only came with the first gen b16a which would have the 10.2.1 compression 160Hp, less 15% 135HP.
Thats the data I working with, but yet still I have a p30ecu, I also think the ECU is a Automatic one. When I chip the new P30 i getting then I will know what the car is making for power. I will keep the stock rev limit of 8200RPM, I don't really be up there to much though.

Guys no fighting on my post, plz. I will order the super tech valve springs man or I will try to get some ITR. For now I will set the rev limit to 8200 to be safe and for management I will be using a hondata s100. How do it determine ITR springs? does it have a mark on them?
