That's a simple answer: Its not being done right and not having a proper tune, that will cause it to go ka boom. To many cheap parts and short cuts is being going on there in TnT to save money and later causes the motor to not be reliable. No offense to anyone but that is the truth. Good parts proper mechanic and a good tuner with the right (ECU setup) know what he is doing will make it a very reliable setup. Plus the buyer/owner must not cheap out the parts.

Bad gas can always cause the motor not to be reliable buy causing interior damages, but I don't think its the issue there as much. Its more of the owner cheap parts and trying to save a few pennies when they can hold out for a little bit longer and save some more money and get the better parts. Plus I think strongly that its all in the tuner knowing what they doing. I have seen some cheap parts making big power with a great tune and lasted quite a while here, but the better parts and tune will always be better in the long run, plus making the car more reliable and making more power for the money being spent.

i know lots of guys you would never spend $$ for a ecu, as it goes after they slap a huge turbo then may consider trying a piggy back or some thing similar.
