trincivic-how avaliable is your recommended set-up?
dragon-would d ls/vtec really cost d same as a CRVTEC?

EVERY1- SO SAY I GET A B16A CONVERSION 4 15K,
WOULD D REMAININ 15K NOT B ENOUGH FOR A BAMBOO 6PSI SET UP ON STOCK INTERNALS WIT MANAGEMENT?
AND IF SO WOULD IT HOLD OUT 4 BOUT A YEAR UNTIL I CAN DO IT PROPERLY?
ALSO WAT WOULD B D EXPECTED HP/TQ GAIN FROM LETS SAY 145WHP/116ft.lbs tq?

i say boost the b16a .. parts are much easier and cheaper to get for this engine (complete engine or head or block seperate .

providing that your engine was properly maintained . get a reliable turbo kit and run 8 psi .it will but down more power and TORQUE than the b18c-r ,crvtec.

in the event of being strapped for cash /destruction of the engine .it is much easy to sell or part out a turbo kit than it is to sell NA parts .

value for money with boost is much better than it is with NA .

to build a proper NA car you easily spend 15 plus thousand

if i had to go NA though i would only purchase a b18c-r (already has a better flowing head,im and tb, high compression pistions ,cams, headers and depending or which model 4.7 FD )

Forza
Yes
cause is the same build
just the
CRVTEC is 2.0L
LS is 1.8L

but the same parts are required

Main thing the LS can take more abuse

Bamboo Turbo is a NO

Lemme answer some of your questions:

FORZA_PRETTYBOY wrote:WAT U GUYS DRIVIN AND IN WAT?
I KNOW: Kes has a Eg 4 dr-1.5Vtec manual Wrong
q unit-Ek 4dr 1.5non-vtec manual I dunno

WAT ABOUT D REST?

B18b-u drivin a turbo B18 right? I dunno
Hatch is best-hatch wit B18c-R? something better
Cleriq-B18c-R hatch? I guess you could call it a hatch
B20-Frank? Wrong
jc-civic? I dunno
Dragon-Frank? Correct
Kinday-B18c-R? Wrong
SR-B18c-R? Correct

So far, there is only one person in this entire thread who has a boosted B series and he is not even telling you to go boost.

Here's a thread if you want to find more trinituners with boosted hondas ...
http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/vie ... p?t=228956

I only know of Red Dragon with a Frank (in this thread) and even he is promoting B18C-R.

To sum it all up...

There is a B18C-R conversion @ D&D Tyres right now, call them. You'll get it for less than $30,000.

I don't think you are ready for any kinda of project like Boost or Hybrids.

There are guys in this thread that have blown more than your budget on one engine.
Not being harsh, just being real!

on this thread these are the NA guys THUS FAR

there are other around .....

NOTE THIS IS NOT IN AN ORDER

Hatch is best-hatch wit B18c
Cleriq-B18c
Dragon-B20
Kinday-B18c-R? :fist:
SR-B18c

all of which gonna stay NA for a while  .. when these change to Turbo start to RUN

reason I did not recommend the CRvtec or LSvtec.. if u do not have a good builder .. u under pressure

as for the B18C or B18C-R complete swap just drop it in

and u good to go also a good platform to start on

and in comparison for me

my CRVTEC build VS a Turbo B16a would have costed $25K more than what i spent

paz-if i go wit ure advice it'll cost a lot more dan 30k 4 now(turbo kit-3600us)

dragon-i know it's d same build(1.8-2.0),but i thought d 2.0 needed more attention

SR- i have a 99-00 EK4 manual,99-00 Ek3 & a 99-00 hatch,i want to sell both both d EK4 &3 & start from scratch wit d hatch

Cleriq- why u answered my ques. wit right & wrong?,it wasn't a test

I GUESS B18C-R HAS IT SO FAR
BUT WOULD I B ABLE 2 GET 1 FOR 30K INSTALLED?,& IF SO, WOULD A USED 1 B ABLE 2 MEET ALL MY GOALS(eg.180whp)?
ALSO WAT WOULD B D COST INSTALLED PLUS BREAKES?(I'LL LOOK AT SUSPENSION COSTS SEPARATELY)

THE CRVTEC need more attention cause the cylinder wall is one of the weak points(B20 block only ) in addition to the rods and rod bolts (same as LS)

cater $40k

if 30k is your bottom line budget then go for a b16a conversion

with everything done the RIGHT way

u have a few options

put a b18 cranks , put shorter rods .....

get a stroker kit bout $2K US

or get a complete b18C or B18a/b Block

Best option is the last one and cheapest ... i did the research already

the kit uses pistons to fit the b16a block, just shorter rods or will i need to cut the block to fit the pistons :?: :?:

the last option, besides the block, what else am i looking at and the cost :?: :?:

what kinda whp would be attainable with stock b16a intake and head on any of the above and how reliable are these builds :?:

2. A B16A WIT 18 BLOCK?
3. A JAP ABUSED B18C-R STOCK?

for the stroker option
check
www.crower.com

kit has crank, shorter rods and pistons.

for the last option complete block , (crank , main caps at least)
u could always buy better rods and pistons after

if is a B18c nothing
for a B18a/d AKA LS u need a vtec conversion kit

reliable as the builder and driver abuse

Forza you can piece together your own kit (quality parts)

for about $1500 USD

stealthmode oil lines 80usd
blox t3 cast iron manidfold $180 usd
ebay intercooler and piping kit $2000 ttd
tial or turbonetics wastegaste $150-300 usd
turbo used $350 usd to 550 usd
BOv ....
locally made downpipe ....

a b18c-r complete sells for about 20k or more ( you still gonna have to pay for installation,do at minimum a 100k service, clutch kit )
