I didnt ask if 16 awg wire is good for wiring the eq. The 16awg simply refers to the size of my remote wire. Thanks for your response though

If there is no other wire about to use... Can I use speaker wire as the power and ground wires for an equalizer? If speaker wire can be used - Will it then be +ve for power and -ve for the ground connection? Can remote wire (16awg) also be used for the power and ground connection for the equalizer?
