i use 1tsp 5spice, 1tsp salt, minced garlic fine 1/2tsp bean sauce and thin it with some rum for a smooth paste the trick is to get the skin gelatinized you boil some shallow water and put the skin down it it to tighten it up then poke plenty plenty holes with needle or toothpicks but not deep into ...

duck skin crackling is a real thing
boil fatty skin in a pot with some water on very low heat til the fat liquifies and then it fries the skin like roast pork
