It all depends where you want your power!! Low end , mid range or top end. Not to sure how that 1.3L will spool , but you may need to research the compressor maps and then decide how to go. You need to match the turbo's efficency rings with RPM and flow! It not's just about a particular turbo workin...

I checked the toyota site and most of the vehicles were tuned to run a minimun of octane 87 but they said for better performanece use octane 91. Once your CR is less than 10.1 you shoud be safe with super, our super is rated at 92 and the premium at 95. The 4AG 20v never ever got the recommened 100 ...

this things could be as simple as a fuel filter but is not easy to isolate sometimes. Sounds like fuel problems, but a slight chance of being electrical. I have had my 4age since 2001 in my ae80 and I'll say without reservation it is the best balanced 1600cc EFI twin cam engine ever produced!!! Before purchasing the engine I did 4months of research! The 4ag was developed in 1983!! imagine 1983 technology still beating most modern 1600cc's !! The hond...

I will look for the link I saw that compared the mivec (4g92), corolla (4ag20v), civic (b16a) and miata (b6). They were tested in circuit, drags and solodex. The corolla didn't win any of the stages but was the best performing car overall. The b16a did win the drags at around 15.8.sec The 20v was ar...

Not to sure about that statement about the bekt bursting and causing no damage nick009!! That may be for the wide angle head on a 4AGE engine, most Ae111 came with the 4AFE which is narrow head! Be careful rmspower.

TRD lili boost, if you going to run small boost (7psi or less) the 4afe should work but you'll need to increase you fuel supply when boost comes on! An AFR should be able to handle it !! The late model 16v 4ag (hi comp) or gze would be the best way to go since boost is addictive!! My hoss blew up a ...

The 20v is probably better in terms of head design and the lighter internals it has to perform well as a N/A engine but when you need to really build on an engine you need tough and heavy internals to do the job of high boost!! The 4agze is a better platform for serious boost as those pistons alone ...

The largest intake ports are from the first gen16v 4age(tvis). Hence the 4agze bottom end with a late model (non-tvis) head but with the tvis intake ports should be the best setup for a turbo. That individual trottles on the 20v make it an excellent N/A engine, but not to good for forced induction. ...

The 2zz-fe or 2zz-ge are 1800cc engines made for the celica chassis but some were used as sport engines in some corolla's. The 3zz-ge of 3zz-fe are the 1600cc versions.
