Thanks Guys, the engine number is JL-..... tried googling it but got nothing.
Was told by the previous owner, it was a Mazda 1.8 engine but he didn't specify what series, which is what I was looking for.

There are no DOHC VTEC ES-Civics, even for Japan.
There are some that came with rear disc brakes..i believe it's the ES3 model, i have the link at home, i'll post it later
