Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

Are you trying to run a Plex server?
When you check your IP Address, are you receiving an IPv4 or IPv6 Address?
What OS are you running your server on by the way?
How is your network setup? Are you plugging the Huawei ONT into an Ethernet Switch and then to all your other network devices?

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

Hey guys, any of you got Digicel fibre and got the PLEX server to work remotely? Yeah I have Digicel fibre and remote access to my Plex server works. It did stop briefly when Digicel attempted to switch me to IPv6. I only noticed by the change in the IP addressing scheme. That disabled the ability ...

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

An out of the box NAS with the ability to transcode 4k might be tough to find and would come at a high price. At the same price or less, it might be a good idea to consider building your own box with more RAM, processing power and in a case than can support more drives. The FreeNAS open source OS is...

Yeah that upload will severely limit your ability to share to a wide audience but you got to work with what you have.

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

Mantis and Ninjabilly thanks for sharing as well. What kind of hardware are you running? What's your bandwidth like? I didn't expect this kind of response to be honest but you guys are out there doing some cool stuff. More people should jump on and share even if you're running Plex on Windows, shari...

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

It's in the U.S. nemo, Comcast. The synology runs its own proprietary OS and very secure. One of the better NAS systems out there. It's a 12 terabyte setup. mantis..who are directing your comment to? Heard of Synology but never really checked out their products. What kind of processor and memory sp...

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

Yes it was in fact particular movies causing the issue. I am able to stream at original quality and like I said before it's excellent. Are you in Trinidad? Who you getting that kinda bandwidth from? I know Digicel business fibre gives you up to about 100/30.

What OS runs on the Synology server?

Re: Sharing Plex Media Servers

KarbonFiber your library is incredible, especially your TV shows and the quality is so far excellent. Only issue is that either your server is heavily utilised or your upload bandwidth is insufficient because I'm buffering a lot at original quality but no worries cause I can lower my remote streamin...

Re: The Religion Discussion

Though we may not all share the same religious beliefs or be religious at all, this is a very good discussion going here. It forces us to ponder some very profound ideas and questions. At the end of it all (if the discussion ever ends) some of us will continue to believe what we have always believed...

Re: The Religion Discussion

Interesting discussion going here. Good question bluefete especially in these times we living in. More and more you wonder what going on in this world. Are we just here to have a grand old time, just live it up, dead and done or is there some purpose to our existence.

I suggest GNS3 for hands on practice. It's not a simulator but an emulator. You run the actual Cisco IOS with access to ALL the IOS features.
