What a speaker repair guy was trying to explain to me is when a sub breaking in and the suspension and spiders stiff the sub will move sluggish and this will hamper the cooling, and playing it the coil temperature will rise thus you get the adhesive smell they use around the coil. Is not only the stiffness of the spiders and suspension has to be broken in, the coil also needs time for the resin to burn off(at least what i think). i think these are lower power rating than the betas, i had a pair of 10" in these valtec, not good on the low mid response like the beta.

Right..the video is meant to show that loudness and spl are not the same, you can build a box to be audibly loud , but it doesn't produce enough pressure to register high on the meter.
