Hi Guys,

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Guys beside ROC and Filterpros, are there any other people/companies that resell genuine parts at good prices? N&M always has parts but their prices are ridiculous

LightHammer when you are researching the shocks, let me know how it goes. I just assumed that OEM would be better.

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Thanks for the response LightHammer, some how i thought you would have been doing more than 100 000. Are you changing the Timing chains? I am going to change the chains, my fuel filter and i'm considering change the particulate however it is a filter that is almost never mentioned in the service man...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Guys i am approaching 100 000 KM ( 5 years old) and i am preparing to have the timing chains changed etc. I have started to notice a slight vibration, i suspect an engine mount may need to change. I am also feeling a bit more bumps. What KM/age have you guys changes shocks and mounts?

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Thanks Biggy ! Time period seems short though, if i remember correctly, cars (depending on whether they are V or serpentine) usually go from 50 - 100K Km. I was wandering if the vans might be longer. Regarding the loss of power due to fuel filter, i have found that when that occurs if i usually dra...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Anybody changed any of their belts so far ? I'm doing 67000 Km, belts seem in good condition but one is slightly discoloured. I checked the service manual to determine what approximate age they change the belts at but didn't find it. Regarding the brake pads, i'm still on my original pads but need t...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Guys does anyone have a Navara that is more than 3 years old. It has a 3 year warranty and i know in many countries, the batteries ar...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Most of the parts can be gotten much cheaper from ROC but they are sometimes out of stock, i got my air filter from them for $175 compared to N&M for $450. I need to do a 40K service and thus need the two diesel filters, oil filter etc but ROC had none. N&M quoted me $4400 to do this service...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Hey guys, i own an automatic Navara doing about 45 000 Km and nearing three years. I never got it inspected but do not want to risk it any further. I realize though that few ppl have mentioned it in this thread. But my question is for those that have did it, where did you get the engine wash done ? ...

Re: need help vrg galant trouble

Hey There are some good posts on this forum about the GDI and fuel pressure/pump try searching. Generally it seems like you are having a fuel delivery problem. First try and change the fuel filter, it is located after the fuel pump by the back right side tire. You can get a replacement at Jurawans, ...

Trendseta, really sorry for the lack of response. I now saw these replies. For the rebuild kit you can call Jurawans in Diego Martin or even try Bobbys. If you don't get the 4g94 then you can use the 4g93, it is missing about 3 gaskets for the 4g94 but a good mechanic should be able to reuse the old...

Trendsetta don't panic, the 4g9 series engines are generally strong. Why not consider repairing the problem? i know someone who was losing oil and did a compression test which confirmed a problem, can't remember what was the problem but RC in south repaired it. That was six years ago and it never ca...

Manual recommends changes every 5000 KM but as stated before most european dealerships change at 10,000 KM. Additionally N&M has used Castrol tection not hypurion every time i have serviced.

I my self i am going to try the amsoil.

Strange Jhonnieblue, they have always used Castrol hypuron with me. Rory i will check the service manual. As for obeying what the manufacturer states, there is a big debate in America about that, basically many ppl still change oil every 5000 Km and a lot of manufacturers recommend that but a lot of...

To be honest if you check the european Navara websites you will realise that most service every 10 000 KM and some even more. Read some of the reviews and the specifically talk about extended or higher service intervals. From my experience the 10 000 Km services are the bigger services, 5000Km ones ...

Strange problem Trendseta, you can have both the fuel pressure on the in tank fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump read. I can't remember the correct reading for the in tank one but on average the fuel pressure on the High pressure one should read about 5.0 MPA ( fluctuates slightly) Yes pressure c...

Does it cut off when idling? Or when idling do you notice a drop in idle that feels almost like the car is about to shut off? Does the Check engine light come on then quickly go off? If yes to any of the above then it could be the fuel pressure level is too low on the pump. PS what is the current co...

Yea you should be able to find a used alternator, generally around 500 to 800 dollars. Some ppl also have the brushes replaced. Hey that is an error normally associated with fuel pressure issues. Some ppl jump the gun and say your fuel pump is bad! No the fuel pressure could just be low and can be adjusted. Also a bad fuel filter, bad as in clogged can also throw this error. Normally it is good to change the fuel filter firs...

What engine does you GDI have (4g93 or 4g94)? and whats bad about it? reason i ask is that there are mechanics than can rebuild these engines, the rebuild kits are available for the 4g93, not sure about the 4g94.
A conversion might not be your only option.

WTK Hilux Original Floor Mats

Good day, trying to find original floor mats for the Hilux. So far M. Rampersad has it for close to $1000. I had got some for a Navara last year at Achievors for $500 but they are out of stock. Anybody know where else i can try?

Rollingstock is correct about location. Check code for fuel problems indicates a problem with fuel pressure on one of the sensors, some ppl change fuel pump because of this when it can also be the fuel filter.

sounds like fuel filter or fuel pump related. Always try fuel filter first then check the pump. You can get the fuel filter at Bobbys, faiz, jurawan etc.
Let us know when you solve it.

The GDI Galant from Singapore/Japan still sold at about $65-70K in Trinidad for many years after most Cars had seen significant price increases. Still is a nice car, ha...
