Re: Question about March K12

I googled it and saw that it was a 30 mm socket. Bought it the next day and used it so the brake shoes have all been changed with no problem.

Question about March K12

Happy New Year to everyone. I wanted to change the brake shoes on my March K12 (2008 Model) today but was shocked to discover that, like in all ordinary cars with drum brakes in the rear where you can simply remove two screws and prise out the drum, this was not so. You have to remove the hub cap, r...

Start with the simplest things first. Check water pump and thermostat before going to head gasket.

If you have a mirror then this can be easily done from above but you can easily see the bolts from the bottom.

Changing of vtec filter in K20A engine

Had to do this myself yesterday in order to stop an oil leak. Easy to do from under the car once the oil filter is removed (about 45 mins). There are three bolts holding it and this is all you have to take off, the shield comes out with the solenoid (vtec) valve as well. One of the things that struc...

Re: Spark plug replacement in 2008 K12 March with 1240 cc En

Thanks for the response turboconch2. Where did you get the seals to buy? Since some of the seals and gaskets may definitely need replacement, are these also available? I will try my best to gently use an even force especially above the intake manifold joint but you know Murphy's law is always there....

Spark plug replacement in 2008 K12 March with 1240 cc Engine

Want to change the plugs but from what I see, the entire air-cleaner case has to be removed in order to do so since it sits at the top of the engine. Has anyone done this before and if so what advice can you give me? Thanks in advance.

Re: d16Y7 auto tranny slipping?

When last did you change the transmission oil? What transmission oil r u using? When changing trans oil did you drain it or went by someone who used a pump to suck up the fluid?

I am asking these questions since I had to replace my transmission recently due to a similar problem.

Actual Removal of oil control valve in a Hyundai Tucson

Yesterday I managed to get the OCV off without having to take out the tappet pan. I used a pair of pliers and wrenched it side to side and this caused the black cylindrical part as shown in the photo to come off. The plunger was then taken out and the other part of the OCV (a cylindrical part) had t...

Re: Removal of oil control valve in a Hyundai Tucson

N&M don't have any and the cost is TT$1505 + VAT. The ones from the KIA will work but I did not get through to Southern Sales. I bought it on the Internet for US$73 and will hopefully get it next week. The part is really a solenoid that controls the CVVT and it seems that it is mucked up with oi...

Internal diameter of top radiator hose of Hyundai Tucson

My Hyundai Tucson (local 2008 model) did not come with a temperature gauge which makes me feel uncomfortable. As such, I am desirous of installing an adapter in the top radiator hose which will permit me to screw in a temperature sending unit to which my temperature gauge will be connected. The inte...

Removal of oil control valve in a Hyundai Tucson

I have a local Tucson which is a 2008 model and the wire connector broke at the body of the Oil Control Valve (OCV). Got a foreign used one last Friday at 1.00 pm and it was installed and car was ready for use on Friday around 5.00 pm. So far it is working good. The transmission was for a K20A engine, case MRPA which is five speed tiptronic.

Need a good Honda Transmission person

My Honda Stream (5 speed tiptronic electronic transmission) started just revving off when the gear supposed to change and the engine light came on while driving home. I stopped and used my pocket OBD II tool and got a shift error. I drove home but had to do so slowly and parked up as the reverse was...

Re: air hose from air filter box to throttle body needed

Thanks for the info on the mechanic, I will certainly give him a call. As for the throttle body hose, I still have it on my car (which I cannot do without), just banned it with some electrical tape and it seems to be working OK for now. Autonation has it for approx TT$800 so I might buy it since the...

air hose from air filter box to throttle body needed

Anyone know where I will get the above? It is for a Honda Stream with a K20A engine. I think the one from the CRV RD5 is the same.

I also need a mechanic to fix the steering rack which is leaking. I live in the East.

Re: Gas problems

Maybe it is the sending unit in the gas tank. Take out wires going to this unit to the tank and use a multimeter. at around 10 ohms or so you fuel gauge should read full while around 100 ohms it should read empty. If you perform this test and get these readings then it is the sending unit of the gas...

Hope the price of new cars will drop or better yet the warranty of new cars increased if the prices do not drop. One thing for sure is that the people bringing down these 6 yr old F.U.Cs will be making a bigger profit and smile even more on their way to the bank.

Engine Light on due to apparent misfire

Hi Everyone, Sometime last year my engine light came on and I did a scan which pointed to a pending misfire in cylinder 3 in my k20A (2.0 L) Honda Stream. I replaced all the coil packs, cleared the code and the problem was apparently solved. About a month later the light came on again. I put on my s...

Re: WTK- local 2004 accord

I believe this car has a 2.0 L K20 iVTEC engine in it which is the same one in my 2004 Stream (I hope it is not a 2.4 L engine). If so then it is very economical depending on how you drive it. It is designed to run on Super gas so you don't have to burn a hole in your pocket. The only thing that mig...
