Re: Toyota ALTIS Transplant

Did you diagnose the exact source of the noise? try to get a second opinion on the exact problem before changing the engine. It could be simple as connecting rod bearings. However, if you need to do an engine change, the 1ZZ-FE works bolt for bolt, wire for wire. There is no need for transplant and ...

Common problem with Toyota. The IAC valve got stuck while spraying TB cleaner. You need a tamper proof tool to open it and free it up.

Re: serviced iac valve, still idling way too fast! (1250 rpm

If you service the IAC valve and it still malfunctions, then chances are your IAC valve is defective. So you will have to replace it with a new one or a foreign used one. Also check for vacuum leaks in the intake, and make sure you PCV valve is functioning.

Re: WTK - Scan Tool reviews (local)

If you want to invest in a good scantool as a sideline, you need a tool that can do basic ECU coding and programming, in addittion to reading and clearing codes. Unfortunatley, neither the Autel 519 or Launch CPR 123 can perform this these functions as they are basic code readers. I have had severel...

The only issue I came across with the cube is with the transmission fluid. This oil life is registered in the ECU and must be changed accordingly. When changed it has to be reset. ONLY NS2 CVT OIL should be used. Any other fluids causes it to malfunction.

Injector cleaners may help keep your injectors clean but thats no guarantee that they will clean them. Get your vehicle properly tuned, meaning clean injectors, trottle body, change spark plugs, air filter, oil and filter (10W30) and do an idle air relearn with a diagnostic scan tool. E -Trottle are very expensive and I would not recommend that is something you experiment with. Pay $150 and get it done right everytime, which is a whole lot cheaper, than complete replacement. Remember, that there is always a disclaimer, for such info ( DO AT YOUR OWN RISK).

Honda's engine and transmission, once properly maintained and correct fluids used, will last quite a long time. There may be slight difference between the local and foreign engines, but the can be interchanged if the need arises. Body and suspension are identical, so no problems in this regard.
