Re: Lets talk CNG

The cng station in Tobago is cashless. Anyone in this group used it as yet? I understand that you got to go buy a voucher or top up card from penny savers then proceed to the station? What are the different value amounts per voucher or topup card??

Re: Lets talk CNG

Transmissions consist of so many different parts and when one goes bad the entire thing is compromised. Garages does real rob you. Sometimes it's just your torque converter or valve body need a service but they tell you it requires an entire rebuild. Very difficult to come by honest people. Chaguana...

Re: Lets talk CNG

I have a 2010 L200 with a factory installed cng kit, I did a full up today and went for a drive along the very bad Arima old road. Mid way up the hill I started to smell the cng very faintly inside the cabin, I switched back to diesel. Then when I hit the hiway I tried the CNG again, this time the ...

But lpg in the country donkey years, and no srs problem... So... It safe enough What I meant was in comparison to CNG which easily diffuses into the atmosphere making it too lean to ignite. If there's a leak or a collision the vapor of LPG doesn't easily diffuse into the air leaving a very dangerou...

DO NOT GO TO CHAG AUTO SUPPLIES. Lied to me. Said 1 year warranty, and after paying 15k for a full rebuild transmission, they said 3months warranty on cvt when collecting my vehicle. I left there with a whining transmission and reverse engaging with a loud bang. My Transmission never whined before u...

Re: Lets talk CNG

Yes. A volume of LPG does have more energy than CNG. IIRC, LPG in 3x more energy dense than CNG @3000 PSI. LPG requires a lower compression ratio than is acceptable for gasoline to achieve maximum fuel economy. Compression ratio, thermal characteristics, and a few other reasons are the cause of low...

Re: Lets talk CNG

Does anyone have more information on LPG systems that RAMCO installs? How much is a liter of LPG after you buy a system from them? Re: Lets talk CNG

I just don't like when there're too many vehicles topping up at fuel stations and the loading pressure is low. I don't get to properly top up especially before going on long voyages (less range). I never ran out of cng though ( NP Carousel Mon Repos to and from Cedros) . So not too much of an issue.

Re: Lets talk CNG

I do exactly that. I Use only gasoline for steep hill climbs & sudden overtakes. Did 3000km using $300 premium gasoline & $250 CNG which equals to 5.45km/$. That's equivalent to a vehicle running on only premium gasoline doing 99.9 miles per US gallon.

Re: Lets talk CNG

The only issue I had initially was a lean code and that was only because I'm flooring it all the time. The supplier adjusted the gasoline while I drove the car with the aggressive pulls. Additionally the spark plug gaps were reduced (was done with caution). Yes, you will not have the same power but...

Today was average driving throughout the year on cng only all day. 88km @ less than 2KM/$ Premium gasoline ($7.75/litre) = more than $44 daily= more than $16060 yearly. 16060-2920= >$13140 saved end of year running on cng only. Re: Lets talk CNG

2014 hyundai tucson (gasoline). Cons worth mentioning: less trunk space due to 70l tank. Additional weight on the rear (rear slightly lower) Not much people notice it but I do. Cost alot to instal with the hope I get value for $ in the long run by the price remaining low per litre.

Re: Lets talk CNG

I recently installed a cng kit. From less than average 2km per dollar on premium gasoline ($7.75/litre) to around average 12km/$$ (or litre) on cng. I do hope the cng price doesn't increase or remains $1/litre. I turn off the cng and use pure gasoline when the additional power is needed (i rarely do...
