Re: WTK about Kano Kroil Penetrating Oil.

I don't think I had ever seen Kano Kroil locally but if you are just looking for a penetrant it wouldnt be expensive to try ATF and acetone 50/50 mix. I remember reading a penetrant comparison from practicalmachinist.com: OT - Penetrating Oil In a thread in the antique machinery forum, there was a d...

Re: IS HIDS ILLEGAL Not no long thing to read

HIDs in regular reflector type housings produce alot of annoying glare for oncoming drivers...HIDs should only be used with the proper projector lenses to focus the light...this gives much better visibility as the lenses spread the light wide but low with a clean cutoff...there are a couple people w...

Re: Broken Exhaust Manifold???

normally cast iron manifolds are very strong and durable but do you have a bonnet scoop or vent? if you do maybe it is a thermal fatigue fracture from water dropping on a hot manifold over a period of time...
thats the only thing i can think of that might crack a stock cast manifold

Re: external wastegate

what kind of turbo is it?...most small turbos come internally gated but if it is not....a 44mm wastegate is good...remember that the lower boost level, the bigger the wastegate needs to be to properly control boost and prevent boost creep...the more boost you plan on running, the less you depend on ...

Re: Rx-8 intermittent misfire, sometimes cuts off.

most likely fouled plugs or worn plugs... do you ever start the car and shut it off before it fully warms up? (like starting it up in the morning and just driving out of the yard then parking it back)...also run the engine to redline a couple times and let the higher exhaust temps clear out the carb...
