Hey I have seen a few hilux's (3L 2.8) etc here in New Zealand with aftermarket bolt on turbo kits on them and seem to work fine, I know that it is been done quite alot in Australia aswell and have not heard of any engine troubles.

Old flywheel back on and no vibration!, and yes your right Aarong, machine shop has checked balance of the flywheel in question, it was out. does not matter now. Old one back in. I changed it cos I wanted one pre machined so I could replace the clutch without waiting for my flywheel to get machined....

I have had this problem with my AE101 Levin! I found 2 things. The airflow meter was faulty, which I replaced with 2nd hand unit and I removed the Cat converter (not sure what your emission laws are) and replaced the factory twin mufflers with a 2 1/4 pipe front to back with single performance muffl...

Um does not sound good, If you are seeing water coming from inside the turbo then it is most likely a crack inside the turbo. The turbo has a water cooled core and I have heard of the core deveploping cracks. This is rare though and I have not seen it first hand. Next step is if you are confident th...

Yeah it is wierd cos waterpump on your model is no where near exhaust manifold. Again I would say check for water pipes around the turbo area and have a good look at where the head mates up to the block. Also there are other bearings (Cambelt tenisioner/idler,alternator bearing etc) that can make no...

IS a 4sfe and a 3sfe identical??

To me they look identical. The car with the dead motor is a 1995 sv40 jap import vista/camry. Many thanks for your help and t...

Well the only 2 places that it could be leaking coolant is either from one of the water pipes around the turbo or from between the head and the block, ie head gasket but very unlikely. My guess would be a water hose near the turbo (turbos are usualy water cooled)

Ok I just joined this today but may be able to help you, Is the water exiting from the inlet or exhaust manifold? Also does this motor have a water cooled inlet manifold?
