Usually change it out every 2-3 diesel filter changes. its a cheap insurance.

Them mad yesSabot wrote:Folks the instrument cluster on my 2004 ranger just stopped working. No gauges work whatsoever. Electrician said its fried. Where can I start to look for one of these. Of course the firm is rediculous. They are out of stock and its costing 5500 plus vat plus 4000 to ship it in. Don't know if thats a whole plane they hiring to ship it down or what but that doesn't make no sense. Any options to repair or anywhere I can check for same? ROC and all the places in the bamboo I called seems clueless about this.

Could be glow plugs.. see what smoke coming out.. while it idling n misfiringimprovednewbie wrote:I checked my 3.2 liter engine and apparently it doesnt come with a egr valve.Changed fuel filter, air filer and oil etc. Still the same but the van works great otherwise. What i think is the possibility of a failing/failed glow plug . When cold i get the problem slightly to start and once start it mis fires very slightly for a very short period. once warm, it works great. No problem accelerating of making rpm. What do u guys think. Also i read online a failing/failed single glow plug can cause slight hard starting and misfire only when cold.
With reference to Toyota... Really!? That isn't what I heard.goalpost wrote:How does the warranty at Ansa work?
Does someone have to service their vehicle there to maintain warranty?
Or can it be serviced outside, in accordance with the schedule?
A partner indicated Toyota honours the warranty when it's serviced outside once it's in schedule.

My 2.2 bt50 is around 7 liters on oil change3stagevtec wrote:Can anyone tell me the engine oil capacity on the 2.2 XLT Manual ranger? for oil and filter change..

That's the 3.2L capacity. And priming issue is mostly a problem with that spec, just don't leave it to sit draining. Work around is to change oil filter, Drain, then plug back right as it starting to drip.Joshie23 wrote:3stagevtec wrote:Can anyone tell me the engine oil capacity on the 2.2 XLT Manual ranger? for oil and filter change..

From searching, the consensus is 8.6 litres or just over 2.25 gallons, filter inclusive. Just some friendly advice though, do some research on the pump priming issue. Some people on the interwebs say it's 'old talk' but seeing a few Rangers with 1JZ conversions or the BT-50 with the RB25 conversion says otherwise.
3stagevtec wrote:I read online the 8.6L spec was for the 2.2L model as well, so I wasn't sure which it really was. Also heard of the oil pump priming issues for the 3.2 model. The recommendation is to not drain for longer than 10 minutes when doing a change.
