actually watched that test and toyo didn't look too good..tomahawk wrote:look on line, there is a "cone test" that was given and a few pickups were tested including the Toyota Hilux.
It was an important safety test. See for yourself
Yes indeed husband has bt50...and it boss ....no complaints ...yes I'm looking at some hilux and there are really exp!babygirl wrote:Hilux overrated and over priced. Yea, they are good, but that does mean mazda, ford or mitsubishi bad. They are all just as good. The same thing you do with a toyota you can do the same with other pickups. If you want to beat the thing to a pulp and dont maintain it, well then you have better chance to sell it after you done if its a toyota, but thats all that there is to it basically. My bt50 doing 150,000 km. All i changed was oil, timing belt thermostat, coolant and brakes, all done at recommended intervals.

Any vehicle you have will last a lifetime if you take care of the thing like how the manufacturer says to. Toyotas have their fair share of problems, and i guarantee you, they are not cheap to fix.

lucky u . lol .. i have a 2009 model .. never got problem with clutch . have head n block issues . 2nd time changing it.. over 200,000km mileage ..khandman wrote:I have a bt 50 manual 2011 4x4. It’s pretty good, dependable and no real issues so far. Only major change was clutch. Other than that it’s basic normal maintenance items. I service every 5k religiously and I have no issues. Mileage is 86k.
I will say though that my friend has a Toyota around the same age and it’s ride is much better and I don’t know why but I find his diesel smokes less than my Mazda. Think he gets better mileage too. I get around 400k to a tank of diesel. That’s about $140.
