Loud and Clear are subjective. a budget and application would help as well.

Stop focusing on loudness when it comes to midrange

The human ear is most sensitive to midrange frequencies. In most cases men does use these top notch midrange speakers and they end up having to dial it back because it overpowers the bass. So you wasting the potential of the speaker.

What is the rest of your system? If you want to know what midrange to use, you have to know what frequencies the midbass/highs can cover

http://www.bcspeakers.com/products/lf-d ... -5/8/6md38

96dB @ 2.83 volts (1W)

so at 120Wrms it should reach around 116dB
(just some rough calculations, it could be more, could be less)

But as I said, don't focus on the loudness, your ear is most sensitive to midrange frequencies. Most likely you'll have to reduce the midrange frequencies in the EQ anyhow, so even if you get the loudest 6.5 out there, you still throttling the damn thing

These speakers made to keep up with big arse PA system 18" subs,,,, you really feel a regular car sub gonna overpower it?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a reals,,, all these big brand midrange speakers people chase are good.
18 sound/B&C/rcf.... sheit even eminence

What differs really is the frequency response. The peaks/dips, and the usable frequency range.

This 6md38 plays okay from 250Hz up to 4KHz, so you'll want a midbass speaker that can play up to 250Hz+
and a tweeter that will cover from 4Khz upwards.
