Postby C33_RB20DET » June 3rd, 2015, 11:43 pm

Good Day,

I would like to hear the opinion of the masses on this topic. Which would be the better overall amplifier to use to fully power a single 15" 9500 or 9900 DD Sub or a single 15" Incriminator Audio Judge, would it be the Taramps 10K or the DD M4?

Also do they make clean power as rated and are there any particular issues with either of them?

Any useful information and personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

dd m4b on 9500 or dd m5 on 9900... the older model m4 would be good for the 9500 and the m4a would be good for the 9900... the build quality of dd amps is superb and much cleaner than the taramps although the difference may not be audible... with brazillian amps stable voltage is essential, 10 k is way too much to put on 1 sub, you could do 2 subs with that power, i playin a 9900 with a xtr3700.1 and it is very loud.. have u considered the hcca 5000.1 d

I know that 10K is a lot for just one sub but then again you can never really have "enough" power in terms of performance and maybe even for a later upgrade. At the end if the days it's a substantial amount of dead money to put out, however I would also like to know which one is the most value for money..looking at it being the M4 at 3200rms at 12v and the tara 10k at 10,000rms at 12v. Both are around the same price being $8,000 or around there.

And no I did't really consider the Orion amplifier, I have used the Taramps and the DD amplifiers already both are very impressive and the first time using the Taramps was very surprising but don't know if they do actual rated power and the other thing is that I have never used the more powerful lines in either amplifier as the M4 and Tara 10K so just trying to gather a little information and further knowledge before choosing one. Considering Power, Efficient, Performance and PRICE (value for money).

I am using a DD M4 on a Incriminator Judge 15 right now. It is enough power and then some for the sub. I have a strong electrical system and trust me when I say it was more impressive than you would believe. And I have proven it over and over again. I personally don't like Brazilian amps, prefer the Korean technologies , plus I have done higher numbers in spl than men using 14k's with more subs than I have.

Sounds good...where you say enough power, how much is enough? Also what SPL numbers do you make with that setup with the M4 and the Judge?

doubt u say doubt -- do some reasearch on the hcca amps they are very detailed very strong very durable and used by many overall shops worldwide-- take a look at some of the characteristics of the amplifers ---the preamplification stages and crossover internal features are very good quality

•Orion has transformed the HCCA amplifiers to a super powerful sound machine. In the new class D HCCA amplifiers for woofers, the power is being calculated at only 12.6 volts and only with a 0.5% THD which makes these amplifiers very powerful ones. They are truly sound monsters starting at 4000 watts RMS up to the super powerful HCCA 20000.1d that gives an amazing and truly twenty thousand watts; something really and unbelievably amazing. All the (4) channels and (2) channels were modified by incorporating a high pass cut system that allows you to multiply by (10) the frequency and take it all the way to 15khz. Technology, quality and extreme power were combined to create efficient and very powerful amplifiers, to satisfy the most demanding customers of our industry whose satisfaction is only the best.

Go with the dd it is alot more user friendly has good protection circuitry, gives more than rated and is not current hungry.

Was thinking to go in the direction of DD's but before purchasing an expensive piece of equipment I just wanted to weigh the options and be as sure as possible before making a decision.

If you understand, a normal person not really going to shell out that kind of cash just on an amplifier so this post was just to try to get some reviews and information on more of the higher end amplifiers available before buying.

Remember at the end of the day everyone wants to get value for money as well.

Thank you for your opinion.
