Update: Need mid-range advice.........

Postby lethal injection » February 27th, 2015, 9:53 am

I have 6000rms available for a baseline.I am currently seeking guidance with respects to choice of subs.I have zeroed my choices to the following:

2 9515dd
4 15(each 1200rms-1500 each,) atomic apocalypse, re sx,)
6 12(1000 rms each)
8 12(500 rms each) pioneer,rockford p3

if you had to choose which combo would you choose and why...vehicle would be a "liming" vehicle per say, very rarely car show thing.

I bought 2 9515...I am looking for the suitable mid-range combo....

I am thinking 4 faital pro 10FH500 with 4 faital pro HF144 drivers coupled with LTH 142 horns?

what you all think? pros and cons?
anything to add?

I say 2 15's

Anything more would just be stress to build for just liming
But 2 12s might not be enough

Wait hold up,,, you does lime hundreds of feet from your car or sumn? Cuz 6000W is a lot mane

he didnt say the space he has to build
cause 8 or 6 -12" in a cramped box will sound like crap compared to 2-15" in a properly designed box

if space isn't an issue 8 12's in the correct enclosure will play more accurately than 2 15's in an oversized enclosure tuned to a high freq just to be loud

Limited space for the multiple sub options.. I'd say 2 15"s in you case.

Two 15"s + room for amps, mids boxes, batteries etc.. need it all to fit! and then as a liming / daily vehicle, better to make the items easy to remove / install if in case...

8 10" may be a better option if you have a wagon; 600Wrms subs will be good

what this guy said..

2 15"s in an enclosure tuned to about 40hz(I stand corrected) or so should be hitting hard enough.....
