Box Help soundstream xxx15

Postby 3NE_SOUNDZ » September 25th, 2014, 5:29 pm

Need some help with box specs for a soundstream xxx15. This is what I came up with so far. 28.5" Wide x 17" H x 20" Deep. Port 2" wide x 15.5 H x 19" long. Let me know what you guys think. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, well that's 5.2 cubes @ 27.7 hz tuning excluding sub displacement volume. looks pretty good, may have to tame the 30-40 hz bump cuz its gonna get LOUD once cabin gain kicks in :).
Good that you have lots of space to dedicate, makes it that much more flexible in terms of tuning.

Ok guys box is built, but still needs to be glued. Have a few questions about the inside. Will it make a huge difference to add 45's on the corners ? And also what about some polyfill? Box is 30 W X 17 H X 20 D. Port 2" wide X 19 Long.

Hey pal, for the xxx15 to play optimally u have to go much bigger with the enclosure or u will damage the sub. 6-8 cubic is the box recommended for that monster

Hmm...spec sheet calls for 3 cubic feet minimum and 6 max. I believe the one I built is about 4.5

Yeah the 15" is optimum @ 4.5 cubes according to manufacturer. Your port area is actually too small, ideally you want 12-16 square inches per cube. You can always go multiple aero as rec. or go with a 3.5 inch port and extend it. That should put you around 60 sq inches of port which should be fine. Tuning a bit higher won't hurt either. @ 3.5 w x 15 h, 26 long, you'll be in the ballpark of 30/31hz tune with an internal of 4.8 cubes.
