Not quite. It's more like a tiny florescent light housing.

The base has to be metal to dissipate rejected heat. The covering is typically optical grade plastic to act as a diffuser lens to even out the point light source of the individual LED though some applications prefer a clear lens. Some applications spec glass and even sapphire lenses.

How you will be attaching the strip to the panel?

i had ordered some on amazon like 2 years ago because couldnt find it locally easily

the adhesive back is useless after a while, the heat from the LEDS will make the adhesive release after a while and the adhesive isnt strong enough to hold the housing and the led weight

you can use something like gorilla glue or silicone adhesive to hold it. you dont need to run a whole bead along the track
just like every 2 feet or 3 feet put a big dot of gorilla gloe or silicone and use masking tape to hold it in place for 24 hours while the glue cures.

No the LED strip on the roll has adhesive at the back to secure it inside of the channel. I plan to screw the channel into the wall

I'm certain that 3M VHB tape has been mentioned before.

It’s aluminum so you will have to glue the magnets on to it.

As SR suggested, Caribbean LED Solutions has in stock. I called them and they have 2 meter lengths for TT$180.00 without the lights in it, just the housing.

Their number is 350-5156

Was looking for this online just yesterday for some RGB strip lights. Good thing I opened this thread.

Just got this at Caribbean LED Solutions.
$130+vat per meter. This is the micro solution. They have a variety of sizes.

Kinda pricey but it's workable.

The strip is still a bit visible with the light off.

If I want to attach / stick magnets to the back of the housing, where will I get that to buy?

Some hardwares like Bhagwansingh or Allied has magnets (check by the cashier). You may also get magnetic tape with adhesive on one side
