yup, odd patterns for the past few days.
Very intense, but short bursts of rain.

Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service

Update (9:45 am): Intervals of showers are approaching both islands (green areas), and should periodically affect us through the day and into night-time. Heavy showers are also possible at times and gusty winds will remain a risk.

even easier test, cut your fingernails/toenails/hair before a full moon and record the amount of time before you cut it again. then repeat this post full moon.

2 days ago Broward county Florida received an extreme cold weather warning.

Tuner weatherheads: could our cold morning temps be related some way to that?

It is, Winds bring colder air to the tropics as the hot/warm air rises...Jamaica and Cuba experiencing it more than us since they are closer to the colder climates.
