WTK Sub Box in Navara

Postby njoeln » May 20th, 2013, 4:04 pm

Will a kicker 12" flat sub in its original kicker enclosure fit behind the back seat of a 2012 navara?? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

you may have to remove finisher on the back wall.
tons of space under the seat though, deeper box and all

yup custom build a box. those kicker cvt12's dont need much enclosure volume either so a small box will still give you some good sound.

Last I checked kickers need some pretty moderate to large enclosures.

If you cramped for space try something along the lines of the Image Dynamics or JL audio subs, they perform pretty good in small enclosures.

Or multiple smaller subs in a full sized enclosure. Thing is, most smaller diameter subs dont do well under 40hz.

I pray to god is just the box you referring to in that install because I seeing:

untreated mdf on the doors

wires hanging out the terminal on the powerbass amplifier

an unsecure / poor ground for the audiopipe amp and

what the hell take place with that powerbass amp, preamp and xover combo there?

@nervewrecker. KICKER CVT subs do not need large enclosures. i had 2 12's behind a L200 seat in a small enclosure and they played great.

This thread was in the wrong forum from day 1.

Rocky, so why not finished pics but pics of half way through install? You hook up an entire system, secure everything, cut some wires to length and mount them for pics only to:
disconnect everything,
re route all the wires,
move around the signal wires,
disconnect the ground,
unwind the bolt,
remove the ring terminal,
put on a new one,
Clean the ground point properly,
reconnect the ground wire
remove the speakers,
remove the tweeters,
remove the baffle,
coat it and reinstall the entire system that looks nothing like what you have in the pics?
And I do understand the combo more than you think but lets leave this thread as is.

madcoolieboy, here are the comp VT subs (kicker flat subs):

http://www.kicker.com/CompVT

The required enclosures are actually on par with those of a full sized sub (larger than some too).
