Nah my panda and I go off-roading some times I currently using at on my stock rims but I wanted to upgrade. I use my van to just do joy drives off road when I get time and to make runs once or twice a week for work so yeah

stock rims are super strong so think about that

Get the AT, sometimes joy ride don't justify wasting the money... Hell not even the MT would work properly in sand without actually coming out and dropping the tyre pressure.. While the AT can...
Hence AT=all terrain, MT=mud terrain

And yes stock rims are very strong

Kool thanks for the info. So should I keep my Oem rims or go for aftermarket cause I wanted a wider rim to or keep the Oem cause of the beating it could take?

Only a few weeks back I had the chance to get rims.
Went with wider rims for better traction and softer ride.

Don't find them to be expensive for the D22 seems fair enough and I mostly buy from the firm.

As for your own, you should do a complete bushing change out

Just saw this thread and decided to add my 2c

Bought a 2004 d22 about 2 years ago and this is my experience:
-diesel in Trinidad is very bad. Didn't realize how regularly I had to change fuel filters.... This resulted in me having to change injectors(for good measure)
- these vans, when stock, are very reliable in almost any terrain! Took it off-roading and was very happy about ground clearance, space in the trail, power ect

-they ride rough! This is primarily a utility vehicle so expect this!

-the 3.0 turbo engine (zd30) is 7/10 in the power department. Will get you ANYWHERE if you know how to drive them.

-body and suspension parts very easy to get and very reasonably priced at most places (excluding the firm)

-never had engine problems (minus the injectors) ALWAYS CHANGED OIL AND FILTERS ON TIME

-only issues with suspension in the notorious noise when locking the wheel (turning)

All in all, if luxury is high on your list don't buy a D22 Fronteir but if you are looking for a reliable, cost effective daily driver/ work vehicle definitely look into buying one!

Yea I'm happy with the clearance as is...
Running 275/65/16

Haven't run into diesel issues yet, but mostly change all filters at every service

Currently contemplating taking out the bench seat in the rear and installing just two seats, let's face it, the back is pretty cramped as is

Had mine for a little over 3 years zd30 and i'm extremely happy with its performance and reliability. Aside from some turbo problems, ive had no major issues with just regular engine oil, filter and diff/gearbox/transfer cases oil change.

Yes @ the noise @ full lock but its not serious enough for me to do anything about it lol.

Demoed the audio system in the VW Jetta Tsi and it was no match to the NP300 D41 Frontier. The stock audio system is quit impressive.
