Local Krav maga guy does this as with most of the martial arts places locally.I grew up in tgat environment.Lots to learn there for women and children with issues(like myself).I believe the krav guy is named Major Sarwan Boodram. He has a good crash course. His regular class involves simulations with real weapons in real world situations.
Shaolin temple of T&T used to do personal and group training too.Sifu Ramsamooj training will turn you into a beast if you take it seriously.
Theres a muay thai gym in the vicinity of Princes Town. Also a beast training camp.
Capoeira can give you good evasive training if you out in the open.Senzala Capoeira used to operate in Tranquility Govt. They should be on fb.
Sifu Rahman Kabir operates in St.Augustine.Teaches Tai chi and Wing Chun, the latter being good for close combat in tight spaces.

Stay away from the competitive schools. You not doing this for show.

But my personal 2c from experience from my younger years.
Self Defense is a state of mind.No amount of training can help if you are not alert and aware of your environment. We live in a generation of morons walking in the street with headphones on and can't seem to come off their phones..

well this post answered my question
but no shakes. Never heard of him.

I learned very differently to most locals in mainly two ways. I not into the grappling thing & here's one example of how.
Of the following things, guess which one could be used as either an offensive or defensive weapon.
A drinking straw
A single match.
A small handkercheif
A cup of water.
A coffee mug.

The answers would surprise you.

as far as I'm aware Jesus Christ never killed or physically harmed anyone. But even he knew the importance of one being able to defend oneself if necessary

See Luke 22:36

Slim,

It’s a possibility.

We need the facts first.

What would it take to implement a firearms licensing and regulation board, that would be responsible for the issuing and when necessary revocation of FUL's, ballistic data management, collection and disposal of unlicensed firearms, etc. instead of this jackass system of one man alone being left to decide who should or should not have a licensed firearm at his sole discretion for whatever reason he alone knows?

88,

You would need a department that understands the way you think and honors your suggestions.

Basically people that care for the safety of the citizens.

Also remember that this is a money making thing as well....if those involved in the process do not get something for their pocket, the applications will not be attended to effectively.

With the implementation of pepper spray, there will be mass applications and incompetency from the relevant departments will be very likely. Money again will have to pass to speed up the process.

Well we might not know, but this one eh look like no hoax.

The woman responded to an Ad, the people gave the google location, she gave her info to come in for an interview next day.
However, Quamie and his goons already got possession of a rented a car and tried to kidnap the woman.
Even turned off the GPS too.
I thought the 2 incidents were connected (and maybe still could be) but the phone number used was the same number on the food place page and they confirmed their ad was legit.

Ian Alleyne has all the videos - whatapp convo, actual video of attempted kidnapping, and even an interview with the woman.

Skip to around the 25:00 mark for some back story.
41:00 for the attempted kidnapping
Around 57:00 for the woman's story.

In case the video not loading -
