What will shut downs prove or achieve?
This after they beg the gov't to open back?
If they serious about shutting down then shut down for a week.

Her supposed killers died whilst in police custody whilst 2 others were charged?
That's not justice? What exactly are they protesting for?
They are not putting forward any sort of legislation etc that deals specifically for women.
This just seems political and emotive. Similar to the blm protest in the savannah.
Seems like trinis have nothing better to do or don't know how to take effective action to make change.
What is it they want exactly? Can someone help me put?
Are they protesting the crime situation or are they specifically protesting violence against women?

Then why not protest for better police training or forensics. Why not protests for a better public transport system similar to what functions all over the world. Had there been a reliable bus service or something that child wouldn't have had to take a chance with a "ph".
Why is the discussion taking place around "regulating" ph and not enforcing the law? This all seems emotional and lacking direction.
Why are opposition members who play a major part in lawmaking acting as though they themselves are not complicit in the sh*tty criminal justice system. Where is all this seriousness when they kicksin in parliament?

Hello Redress10,
I cannot fault you for thinking the way you do.
The pandemic has shown T&T that Trinis just cannot stand together.
But this is something we have never seen. Give the citizens a chance and stand with us. Many believe that after the weekend the crowds will die down, but let us try to make a difference together.
These people are not just protestors with no motive as the embarrassing Trini BLM, but protestors, even victims who are displaying their pain and passion.
You should go to one of the protests and you will see what people are protesting for.

Again, who is that protest directed at? Is it the MONS and police etc? They can't be protesting police because they were rejoicing when those two men died in police custody.
The MONS gets the largest allocation in the budget each year for decades now. What do we have to show for it? Are they protesting sh*tty policing that resulted in her not being found even though they had 'suspects" in custody?
I understand that ppl are fed up but what do they aim to achieve after this? Why protest outside parliement but not outside the hall of justice for instance.

Starlight the 1% gym is closed on Friday so I'm sure it'll have the same effect you're expecting.
Redress10 wrote:Wouldn't it make more sense to get some urgency in action instead of a candle light vigil? This just seems performative.
Shouldn't they be demanding a better public transport NOW.
A crackdown on PH taxis NOW and not "regulations and registration".
Better policing NOW. That sort of thing.
These things just looking like a reason for ppl to get out the house and gather. I understood when they said it was a national wake for Andrea but now what is the reason for the "protests" now? What are they protesting that is specific to Andrea?
Seems like ppl just want to use her death for political mileage especially with ppl like PEA and Ian involved.
