Looking for this item or something similar locally available to use on my smith machine to protect the paint on the parts when the barbell rests on the j-hooks.

Maraj has foam tape sold by the roll

foam wouldnt last with the lashing from bar with weights

you could try rubber from a shoe repair place and use evostik or 3m vhb doublesided tape

the safety places like ssl might have skid tapes to just stick on, but those may not last as long as that shoe rubber suggestion. that should be very durable.

there is also a durable rubber sheet irp sells for them truck bed liner but not sure if small quantities

Thanks ppl. Found some.options at the shoe repairers and even irp. Gonna check them both out and walk with a sample of what I have on the machine presently for comparison.
