Somebody help me out. The order is for VAT ONLY!

Does the 7% online tax and customs duties still apply?

so he 'retroactively' applied the order? like he forget to issue the order Friday and now blaming customs for the 'erroneous' charges?

They better hurry the firetruck up at customs, I have packages in aeropost that reach in country almost a week now and still 'Delayed in Customs'. Sigh..... These days are temporary and related to Covid right?

Aeropost confirms same. May the obliteration of one's USD reserves via credit card begin asap and may the banks find said USD to settle our respective credit cards. Pardon me as I do the balisier guys.

8471.30.00 doesn't cover anything but portable computers, aka tablets, laptops and phones. The description is legally deliberate.

Further details on the Tariff headings: http://www.customs.gov.tt/content/Customs%20Act.pdf
Page 694

8471.50.00 seems to cover graphics cards. That's not in the amendment is it?

Anyways, as you can observe, Imbert still screwed the population, and who the ass had put back the tax and created new ones in the first place in 2016? Political Manipulation 101. Let us celebrate this nation's stupidity. Yes, zoom. Yes boy.

TTCS doing good work refurbishing old desktops. shame they are getting no relief with opt/vat on parts.

this dotish though. Desktops last longer, are more repairable, and the screen can be big enough to read comfortable.

I got a notification from my websource and checked their calculator. Is only laptops, notebooks and tablets. The wording of the statement by imbert is stupid. Bout laptop computers. Even other news media incorrectly telling people desktops included in the no tax

Checks the lie on PNM paper to get dotish people votes. Checks back Imbert statement on Tariff 8471.30.00. Checks back printed lie. Reading what Tariff 8471.30.00 actually covers. Check back the printed lie.

Alright, carry on. This checks out in PNM supporter logic.

ED how yuh feeling now, reading this? Yuh happy? Take the tax for yuh Graphics card. Desktop build? No lube for you. 4K gaming monitor? No lube. Of course they lied. Ent zoom rader telling yuh that PNM does do this every election going 50 years now, with promises in their manifesto that never come true? Yuh happy about the scene of jackassery you made in here ED? Yuh feeling like a PNM man now? Keep loyal, they'll reward you next time.

The whole issue is kids may be home for another 6 months to a full year of online learning, why did they just limit it to those devices and not include desktops? Desktops are in fact more affordable for the equivalent proccessing speed and storage and in some of the schools, the platform that they use works much better when using a desktop as compared to a tablet or laptop. In addition when teachers are sharing their screens with the kids to teach the bigger the screen the better for the kids eye sight.
Computers in general should be removed from taxation and this initiative should still be taken soon.

The reason Panday removed taxes on books and all computers and components was that these things needed to be affordable by the average citizen as well as business so that Trinidad could maintain some advantage internationally. Also, especially for business, he wanted to make cost of running businesses (increased efficiency) cheaper.

PNM does not care and rather they seem to get upset if the barrier to becoming a successful Trini is too easy.

UNC in 2001 wanted to remove all taxes on camera, photography and videography, audio engineering, instruments and other related items to boost the creative industry.

It is a pity the pnm government tries to set back out development but, this is what we like.

one ting our country was good at, is creating industry professionals, and exporting them, via panday and manning. kamla expanded that even earlier via the laptop program. even rowley said that a lot of people here get by when their family works abroad and send back money. i forget the term for that... the only word coming to mind is emolument.
the voting population rejected that philosophy in place of pool and broom.

when u jam a PNMite how kamla give them laptop free, they say that the govt need taxes. but the praising the govt for removing taxes on some devices as a great move... but they still aint collecting taxes....

PNM supporters on the intellectual level of strims.

because if kids n USA using laptops kids in TNT must as well. Teachers can connect big screen monitors or projectors to a Laptop Also the child only needs the much cheaper google chromebook so parents can save.

Plus Right now there is a shortage of new chromebooks as all the public schools dumping their old chromebooks and are buying new unit to give free to every child. New stock replacements out of China are limited because production is down. If you try to buy online Back orders are almost into Feb 2021 on most manufacture websites
