CAL Hurt UWI Students ?

Postby RedVEVO » June 16th, 2020, 8:11 am

" ..West Indies’ Cave Hill campus in Barbados are relieved to be back home, they are unhappy with Caribbean Airlines US$488 fee per ticket to return .. "

Where students going to find US $488 ?

So you cannot bring out brightest and young future leaders back into Trinidad for FREE ?

You deny these citizens the right to return ( constitutional rights ) and now you making them pay in USD ?

It's a sad sad day for UWI students .

And SHAME ON THE CEO

Yes how dare they do not even offer to pay for the students when thousands of other Trinis still stuck outside and precedence would be one hell of a thing.

Wow,

Well they could have just stayed there and spend more than $488 in food and accommodation etc.

I really dont know why Trini people like to beg to get everything free especially in a pandemic.

Talk about being some ungrateful little brats.

Before blaming Mr. Medera who doesn't give a sheit if they charged or not because at this point who cares.

I believe in March or April, CAL offered the government to repatriate all citizens and Caribbean nationals for free as a goodwill gesture and for CAL's image in the Caribbean. However, he was told outright NO and that CAL needed to STFU and stop talking about traveling.

Interesting...did not know planes run on thanks...
CAL is a state enterprise therefore we the tax payers will have to subsidise the cost of this repatriation...

I not the sharpest tool in the shed (I did study at UWI Cave hill for a year so the brightest and future leaders statement is definitely not true) and I can say things not the cheapest over there but if the government send you $300 USD for emergencies, and CAL offer a ticket for an additional $188 USD then whats the issue, not everyone will have that at hand but its not a hard ask?

As an individual I know I wouldn't be able to find a flight to BIM for something close to that- things are sh1t at the moment globally, if the price is perceived to be inflated in reality you cant reasonably expect to pay 'normal prices' for everything all the tim.

" .. T&T medical students who are currently in Cuba are also seeking repatriation as they say life has become “unbearably tough” for them. The students say they have run out of personal hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste and sanitary napkins.Guardian Media has been informed that there are 21 students, 19 of whom are on scholarship in Cuba .. "

The Ministry of National Security.

On April 26, Young responded saying “Borders closed, stay safe”, the student said.

Why the TT government don't just send them care packages so they can get through until the borders re-open? Why everything have to be so difficult with this sheit Stuart Young?

Everybody willing to pay for their flight but not 500 USD willing. There was a simple solution.

In the article, the argument was never for a free flight.
Who was asking for a free flight?

PNM checking in.(according to ZR)...hide your stuff

Wait no longer a PNM according to ZR...dont hide your stuff

I think its best ZR goes on Wikipedia and submits an article exactly what a PNM is, that way were all know where we stand.

If its on Wikipedia its real.

"PNM ppl" is my trade mark and was coined by me.

Nearly every tuner uses it including elite.

No need for Wikipedia

Because many have been out of money/shelter and borrowing money for months. A free flight is the least we can do, CAL staff getting paid, it's literally just the fuel costs which government can hit them a Bligh. They are trinis who are suffering and they DO NOT need to be demonized for being out of the country.

Cal (BWIA) is owned by TT so "we the people" should show an interest in our young people ..

They may not be the brightest ( they studying in Barbados and Cuba so how bright are they really ? )
or the best looking but goddam they are our young people, our future leaders like the ones we have
presently .

We should have the moral obligation and fortitude to bring them back to our shores so that we can
full the bars and get this economy moving.

... but then, chutney soca monarch and SDMA will get over funded and kafron and dem will be cap in hand by pricemart.
they taking people taxes to keep the lights on and cant give the future of the country a lil pull out... once????

if CAL costing more money run than it gains, whats the point???

It should be financially supported via a special "Chut Tax" via sale of watermelon, pigeon peas and ochra and chow mein doubles.
