Sanitizers are literally mostly alcohol (between 60 and 95 percent) and usually in the form of ethanol, isopropanol, or n-propanol.

The inactive ingredients are things like aloe vera or essential oils, all non-cancerous for topical use.
They probably contained methanol. Cancerous? No, but it is toxic.

PM ROWLEY to be vaccinated in Tobago Today :

Article by Elizabeth Williams in today's Express Newspaper

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will receive his Covid-19 vaccine in Tobago today.

Rowley, who is in the sister island for the Easter holiday weekend, will be vaccinated at the Scarborough Health Centre around 2.30 p.m.

The Prime Minister had previously announced that he would be in Tobago during the Easter holidays and once the vaccines became available during that time, he would be vaccinated.

On Thursday, Tobago received 3,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses to cover 1,500 essential frontline workers and people with chronic illnesses who qualify as part of the current phase of the Ministry of Health’s vaccination programme.

Biden Covid Advisor Warns ‘Game-Changing’ Variant Infects Kids ‘Very Readily’ And Could Spur New Lockdowns

Despite an accelerating vaccine rollout, Dr. Michael Osterholm, a member of President Joe Biden’s coronavirus advisory board, said on Sunday that the U.S. will face "major challenges" in battling the pandemic before summertime, warning the U.K. coronavirus strain infects children more easily than previous strains—something experts are still debating.

KEY FACTS

On NBC's Meet the Press, Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, called the B.1.1.7 variant a "brand-new ballgame" because of how quickly it has spread among children, citing roughly 750 Minnesota schools that have reported the variant in just the last two weeks.

Osterholm also suggested the U.S. may need to consider new lockdowns before school lets out this summer, saying vaccination alone won't curb rising cases in the next six to eight weeks and telling Fox News Sunday that "there isn't a country in the world right now that has seen a big increase in this [variant] that is not locking down."

"We're going to have to reconsider what we're doing," Osterhold said, noting that the new variant is between 50% to 100% more infectious than previous strains and causes more severe illness about 55% of the time.

He also said experts are "very worried" that variants can evolve in a way that evades the protection of a vaccine and called for the U.S. to rev up its global response measures to vaccinate low- and middle-income countries in order to help curb the development of new strains that could challenge vaccine efficacy; so far, the World Health Organization has said the current slate of vaccines is expected to provide "at least some protection" against new strains.

Speaking to CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday, Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) said that more than 70% of current Covid-19 cases in New York City consist of new variants, with the B.1.1.7 strain commanding more than one-quarter of cases.

"There is widespread Covid fatigue, and I worry that too many people have become complacent as we come closer to normalcy," Torres said of the virus' resurgence in New York City, where new cases in recent days have climbed to a two-month high.

CRUCIAL QUOTE

"We really are in a category five hurricane status with regards to the rest of the world… This B.1.1.7 variant infects kids very readily," Osterholm told Meet the Press. "Unlike the previous strains of the virus, we didn't see children under eighth grade get infected often, or they were not frequently very ill. They didn't transmit to the rest of the community… B.1.1.7 turns that on its head."

But, with the proven effectiveness of the vaccines we received, plus we only have enough for 1% of the population right now, do you think this is a wise use of the resource? I mean Salt War and JUHN Scarfy could take it to show confidence, but Weekes?

if it wasnt to work so good, i would ur rather the govt officials get it and get take out, than the frontliners/emergency services...in the odd chance that it doesnt work, cause the astrazeneca isnt as good as the others.

more or less, if u have potential comorbidities or old, ur chances are reduced compared to a reasonable healthy person.

the cost of the astrazeneca compared to the good ones, make it a good choice for getting the bulk of the population vaccinated. and then u use the more reliable vaccines for the less healthy.

not all politicians but the ones holding highest office- an covid get d PM just hours/days before he was due to get it, so maybe they should be doing the President and the AG (the minimum ppl needed to form a Govt).

Yes they should, it sets the example for all the conspiracy theorist in the population, but then again they claim their leaders didn't actually get the real Covid-19 vaccine anyway.

Key Points From the Ministry of Health’s Virtual Media Conference – Wednesday 7th April 2021

- Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh provided an update on the progress of the national rollout of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. The Minister stated that 1153 people in total were vaccinated across the 5 RHAs, and gave a breakdown of the figures which goes as follows:
North West Regional Health Authority – 80 persons vaccinated
North Central Regional Health Authority – 280 persons vaccinated
South West Regional Health Authority – 471 persons vaccinated
Eastern Regional Health Authority – 171 persons vaccinated
Tobago Regional Health Authority – 151 persons vaccinated

- Minister Deyalsingh stated that more vaccination sites will be added to the North West Regional Health Authority within the next 7 days which will lead to a significant increase in the RHA’s vaccination numbers. The Minister indicated that the reason that there are currently limited sites in the NWRHA is because some sites have small spaces and a lack of parking which can’t properly and safely facilitate vaccine administration.

- Principal Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, in providing a clinical update on Covid-19 indicated that from the start of the year to now, hospital occupancy for the virus has increased from 2% to 12-13%. She also stated that in the same timeframe, the rolling daily average of cases went from 3 to 30.

- Dr. Richards also indicated that over the last 3 weeks there has been a shift in the prevalence of Covid-19 cases from being mostly centered in the Central and Southern region to now being detected in higher numbers along the East-West corridor.

14 days in state quarantine for repatriated US passengers ?

UK variant is now the dominant coronavirus strain in the US, says CDC chief
By Betsy KIein, CNN

Updated 1615 GMT (0015 HKT) April 7, 2021

(CNN)The coronavirus variant first identified in the United Kingdom is now the most common strain of coronavirus in the United States, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Wednesday.

"Based on our most recent estimates from CDC surveillance, the B.1.1.7 variant is now the most common lineage circulating in the United States," Walensky said at the White House COVID-19 Response Team briefing.

Studies have suggested that the UK variant is more contagious than the original strain, is possibly more dangerous and associated with a higher risk of death.
There are currently 16,275 confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 variant in the United States, according to the CDC.
The country's daily rate of new cases rose over most of the last four weeks. Part of that is due to the spread of B.1.1.7 and other concerning variants, Walensky said this week.
Last month, evidence was mounting that the variant was possibly already dominant across the US. At the time, the CDC declined to say if the variant was dominant -- but predicted it would be within a few weeks.

How our covid-19 deaths rank in comparison with other causes of death.

Btw if murders were listed, it'd be between prostate and kidney disease at number 5.

Covid-19 was the third leading cause of death in the USA for all of 2020. It was the number one cause of death this year.

What's alarming right now is the number of people hospitalized.

March 13th we had 4, now April 8th, it's 45.

That's an 11X increase in less than a month!

This might be the highest-burden our hospitals have faced regarding covid-19 related patients.
