of course is trouble asking ppl to wear 1 mask. the only thing that might change ppl mind is if what happen in brazil happen here where a set of young ppl end up hospitalized.

we would have folks walking around with two masks on chin :|

whole day I seeing people reallll f**king slack with wearing masks.

yeah now heard dat on cnc3. but MOH still want to deny spread from someone who didn't quarantine with a strain which spreads more easily.

it's the same thing with testing- if u no testing enough u would not know. and sequencing is perhaps much lower than testing. they should be sequencing every illegal that comes in

That's the one the catch.

This Brazilian variant probably has been here a while now, remember only a sample of positive cases are sent to UWI, who then takes a couple weeks to give back the results.

Is Tobago a COVID SURGE HOTSPOT ?

Postby RedVEVO » April 22nd, 2021, 4:51 pm

Conflicting reports on where the COVID virus is raging . Who do you believe ? PM or Dr Avery Hinds

Technical Director of the Ministry of Health’s Epidemiology Division, Dr Avery Hinds, says one of the driving factors for the current surge in COVID cases were congregations around the time of the Easter weekend.

“We’re now seeing the effects as this week’s figures roll out. We’re seeing that two-week gap between Easter and now being followed by that large surge,” he said while presenting the epidemiologic data during yesterday’s virtual press conference.

https://guardian.co.tt/news/pm-dont-bla ... db302793f4

“To set about to separate the people of Tobago or their tourism economy for special hatred is misleading and just plain wrong. Against the data set, it is unnecessary and purely divisive for politicians with nothing useful to contribute to be trying to establish that our current circumstances are as a result of a successful Easter weekend in Tobago.”

Yesterday, T&T’s total COVID-19 cases stood at 9,216 with 81 new cases and 157 deaths.

Where is the scientific data that says you need to shut down business in Trinidad ?

If Tobago is a hotspot for surging COVID virus why does Trinidad need to lock down ?

it’s not the physical tobago connection
but rather the fact that rowlee made it seem like it’s ok to lime and have a good time when he referenced tobago in that infamous statement about it being the place to be.
many don’t understand that but keeping trying to think the cases are only from persons who went to tobago

yea is mostly dotish Trinis that went there to lime.

The govt should have handled Easter the same way they handled Carnival. Proactively close the beaches and step up enforcement. Carnival was real quiet considering.
