WTK: Vehicle transfer from deceased

Postby V2NR 3.0 » August 8th, 2019, 7:12 am

Good Morning

My dad passed away last week and I wanted to know what is the process for having the vehicle legally transferred to my sister. The car is on his name as well as the insurance and I dont want any complications if she gets into an accident. Any advice would be much appreciated. I plan to head up to licensing.

You have to get his Will probate. Then who ever on that Will be able to transfer. Normally takes about 6 months plus lawyer fees .
You will get a lettter of administration to whose ever on the will to do his business, like banking, house ect

Firstly, please accept my condolences in the loss of your father.

Here's what you will get from LO:

adnj: Thank you for your condolences and information. A will was not done so I guess that puts a different twist on things. My mother is still alive and I think she would be next of kin ?
